As the founder of Aware Records, Gregg Latterman went from a 9 to 5 job in finance to a 24/7 job getting some major artists' careers started including John Mayer, Five For Fighting, The Fray, and Train. In fact, Gregg was the guy who got Train a record deal and was there for the entire beginning of our career. This week, we hear the story of Aware Records and of Gregg's life in music, and we find out some stuff we never knew about our own band's record deal!
Video Premiere: Zach Heckendorf, "All The Right Places"
Singer-songwriter Zach Heckendorf is a recent signee to Aware Records. Only 19-years-old, the Denver-based Ray Charles devotee has done his share of crossing the country; he’s currently on the road with Mat Kearney, and will soon be opening shows for Rodrigo y Gabriela’s and Michael Franti.
Check out the video (his very first) for “All The Right Places,” which hails from his debut album, The Cool Down.
“Filming the video for ‘All The Right Places’ was very natural because we shot at places I am extremely familiar with,” Heckendorf tells American Songwriter. ” I felt that by putting these locations in my video, I was basically thanking all of them for being a part of my life.”
