a week of waiting
so of course we snapped back and forth the entire time I was in the Dominican. I was dropping some OBVIOUS hints left and right but he just seemed so oblivious it hurt. finally the day I got back from the Dominican we were having a conversation and I ended up mentioning how I barely knew him to which he responded that I could get to know him. me being the gracious and charming person that I am.. said “that was the plan.” how eloquent, am I right? he then asked me how I planned to do that and I told him I’d get to know him the same way I get to know everybody, by asking them tons of kind of personal questions. then as a genius after thought, I said, “unless you have another idea” I could not have given him a better opportunity I mean come on, but he still didn’t bite. at that point I gave up and just resigned myself to stop trying to drop hints. literally five minutes later he asked me on our first date (he later told me he wanted it to be his idea not mine and that’s why he didn’t respond to my blaring signals lame af). the only problem with this is that I was leaving the next morning bright and early for Arkansas so we had to schedule the date for the next week when I got back. queue a week of flustered distractedness from the nature I was there for and being caught between feelings of anxiously wanting to go home IMMEDIATLY but also never wanting to leave the beautiful landscapes of Arkansas.
