I’m wondering if C!Dream is giving C!Awesamdude better food to further try to convince him that Dreams a better person than he thought.

I recall Dream telling C!Tommy that he was going to make him appear crazy. Not let others know he was still bad and paint it like Tommy was just being paranoid.

This reminds me of that.

- oh sam you’re just as bad at me, but look I’m acting nicer than you did. You let me get tortured for nearly a year, only fed me raw potatoes, but I’m giving you steak and made a cake, etc….

You get what I’m saying? Idk, I feel like there’s more I could say I just can’t figure out how to say it.

I think it's so telling that while c!Dream kept up the act of wanting everyone's attachments and ultimate control of the server, he also let his true intentions and motivations slip when talking to c!Sam about what he wanted to do to him and why.

Before now, he's always kept such things hidden behind the mask of an insane, power-hungry control freak and acted like nothing else mattered. But what happened to him in Pandora broke that mask, and every now and then the truth of how he feels and what drives him comes slipping through the cracks. It's almost like he's on autopilot and can't help it when you really listen - it all just comes spilling out in a rambling mess before he even realizes what he's said.

At this point, though, I just don't think he really cares anymore. He's hurt and he's angry and he's dealing with it the only way he knows how by getting revenge and hurting the ones that hurt him back. He just wants to make it all go away by locking them in Pandora and ignoring that it ever happened. Even with c!Punz - arguably his most trusted ally - he just wants to act like the plan never went off track and that they didn't break him. And maybe in his eyes, they didn't because he didn't give up the book and he survived. To us, however, it's clear that he didn't come out of Pandora the same way he went in, and just because someone survives something doesn't mean they were unaffected by whatever they went through.

Unfortunately, though, c!Dream just can't see that for himself yet and he doesn't recognize how unhealthy everything he's doing to cope with it all is. If anything, things are only going to get far, far worse for him if no one steps in to point such things out to him or at the very least try to do so.

Imagine Sam showing up at Ponk’s house, three in the morning, clutching his eye, tears, snot, and blood running down his face.

Imagine Ponk not asking any questions, their doctor instinct kicking in, and pulling him inside the house to get out of the cold night air.

Imagine Sam stubbornly biting his lip about what happened out of fear, and Ponk not pressing him about it while they clean his wound.

Imagine Ponk trying to get his mind off things by asking about Fran, or Quackity, or Redstone, or other things they know Sam can speak about for hours.

Imagine Sam breaking down, scared for his life, feeling fragile and vulnerable for the first time and Ponk holding him tight, despite the ache in their own heart, because someone they love needs them right now.

Just, imagine.
