Whining and complaining seemed to be the day's activities for Alianna. Being dragged to a basketball game by her best friend, Niall, she was in anything but a fantastic mood. Her cries of exasperation mixing with the crowd's screams of either defeat or joy, the Irishman was quick to assume she was having a great time. After a while, she gave up and trying to convince him to take her elsewhere.
A bit into the game, Alianna took notice of the arguments that went on between the referee and managers. While Niall, along with the rest of the audience, would scream in frustration, she would giggle. Watching the disputes became boring as she then turned to her phone for entertainment.
Intermission rolled along soon and Alianna was bored as ever. Niall tried to spark up some idle chat, not aware of her irritable attitude.
"I'd rather poke my eyes out with sporks. Sporks!"
Niall's expression contorted into confusion as she finally spoke up. "Aren't you having a good time?" He asked her, his accent thick in his words.
"You know I hate sports. Playing it, or watching it. It's boring," Alianna continued to whine. "Can we leave?"
Putting his arm over her shoulder, he tried to soothe the irked Asian. "Do you think you can make it through another hour?"
"An hour?!" she exclaimed before letting out a long groan of exasperation. She shimmed out of his hold. Not being a fan of sports, Alianna wasn't a big fan of any form of physical interaction. "Niall, my head hurts. I'm hungry. I'm tired. You can watch the game at home anyway." Alianna complained, laying her head on Niall's shoulder.
Niall sighed, scratching his head, thinking of a way to please the irritable, little woman. "Well, there's the hot dog vendor. That solves one of your problems." He gave a weak smile. Alianna looked up at him pleadingly. He couldn't say no to his adored best friend. "Fine. But can we for just a bit more? At least until the first huddle?"
Quickly perking up, Alianna nodded in agreement, glad they were leaving soon.
As she positioned herself comfortably on Niall's shoulder, music started up in the stadium. The music was unmistakable for one that any stupid sports event would put for the 'Kiss Cam'. Annoyed, Alianna decided to look up at the different couples. She couldn't help but smile at the elderly couple that was presented on the screen, giggling when the old woman blushed bright red.
Soon, her smiling face contorted into a look of pure terror. Oh God, no. What?! No! Niall's just my friend! Exchanging a glance with the blonde, Alianna shook her head no. Niall simply shot her a mischievous grin, shrugged, and grabbed her by the shoulders, peppering her face with kisses. She couldn't help but giggle as this was completely unexpected and downright silly of Niall.
Seconds later, the 'Kiss Cam' was on another couple and Niall left Alianna be. Her cheeks were flushed bright red as people around them patted their backs in congratulations and commenting things like, "You two make an adorable couple." Alianna would've normally corrected them, telling the people they weren't together but she was too much in shock to actually respond.
Finally looking over at Niall, he gave a sheepish smile. "So how about those hot dogs, yeah?"
Alianna shook her head and chuckled. She leaned in and kissed his cheek. "Yep, hot dogs!" She sprang up, a smile on her face with Niall following suit.
As they left the arena hand-in-hand, Niall snuck a kiss to her cheek.
