Mika has his head bowed as he stands at Ed’s bedside. A trembling hand grabs onto Ed’s, and the boy’s very clearly crying now. His shoulders jump with every sob that he tries to hold in, and so he holds on tighter. “...I— I thought—“ He makes an attempt to speak, his voice wobbling, tears running down his face. Tears of relief. “I-I’m so glad you’re okay-!”
Gold eyes widen at the sight of the boy in the doorway of his hospital room. A mess of black hair and emotions that is at his bedside, holding his hand as tight as he can. He’s sobbing. He’s trying to get words out. It’s not a complete sentence and the Elric boy can only tilt his head to the side. He must have heard. He’s not surprised word made it out to Mika. He must have been scared.
“Oh Mika.” He starts as his brows raise and his eyes soften. He’s shifting himself around to allow the other boy to climb up on his bed with him so he can wrap his left arm around the sobbing child and hold him to his shoulder.
“Mika, it’s okay. ‘m okay. I’ll be okay. I jus’ got real sick so Dad brought me ‘ere, so the doctors could help make me better. I’ll be okay Mik’s. The doctors jus’ haven’t said I can go home yet. I don’t feel a’hundred percent. I’m okay, Mika. I’m jus’ sick. I jus’ got real sick that’s all. There’s no need ta worry, you ain’t gunna lose me.”
