It gains the more it give And you see it rises with the fall So hand me that remote Can’t you see that all that stuff’s a sideshow?
Ohhhh we’ve reunited and it feels so good. It’s been almost 7 years since we posted our first YouTube video back in 2009. And naturally, when we haven’t seen each other in over six months nor played in what seems like almost a year, revisiting oldies and songs we’ve…

#tbt part 2 with my first and best friend @ayanagiann. I'd come back home from college over the summers and it would be such a nostalgia trip to revisit old people and places, including this song in my hometown. This always manages to hit a sweet spot, and after 9 years of time making us bolder and children growing older, this is a special one. 💛✨ Link: https://youtu.be/jZX_lodIXBM #fleetwoodmac #stevienicks #dixiechicks #landslide #rachelannc #ayanagiann #rachelandgiann #carondelet #chs #2013 #acoustic #guitar #girlguitarist #femaleguitarist #femalevocalist #womenmusicians #music #melody #coversong #throwback #home
"Dreams" (Fleetwood Mac Cover) by Rachel Ann Cauilan & Ayana Giann Carlos
Now here we go again, talking dreams while time is making us bolder and children are getting older…
It’s been a long time coming for the both of us–her staying in NorCal fortifying her passions with my moving to SoCal finding and growing within myself throughout college. I found myself back home this past weekend and, as we’re both reaching the end of our college careers and about to embark on some strangely weird and affirming, transitional periods in our lives, we–of course–want to deliver a new cover.
This is our version of “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac. It’s a song I’ve always loved. Forgive me if the layered tracks on top of the raw recording are a bit disturbing/distracting (I tried to see what I could do).
So have you any dreams you’d like to sell? We’d love to hear about them. Keep in touch with us as we navigate life throughout our twenties.
With love, rachelannc & ayanagiann
"True friendship is when two friends can walk in opposite directions, yet remain side by side."
"Cardigan Weather" (Meg & Dia Cover) by Ayana Giann Carlos & Rachel Ann Cauilan
This was recorded earlier this past summer, before I cut my hair and we were able to knock out three covers in one day.
"Cardigan Weather" is probably one of those special songs that first brought us together in high school. As a 13-year-old-girl, Meg & Dia was one of my prominent influences in music and in life; when we were fresh(wo)men back in 2007, she said she knew this song; and I said I could play it.
We've become best friends ever since.
While she's home in NorCal and I've gone off to SoCal, this is from @ayanagiann and @rachelannc to you, with love. xo
Ayana Giann Carlos & Rachel Ann Cauilan - Shy That Way (Tristan Prettyman & Jason Mraz Cover)
This is our take on “Shy That Way” by Tristan Prettyman & Jason Mraz.
This is a song we were about to perform some time four years ago at the end of our senior year for a school rock concert. We ended up passing on this for sake of the “mood” of our set.
But, this moody song has been one of my favorites to play over the years, as it’s been one of the first songs I had learned early on in my guitar playing and–who’s to kid–I was a shy kid.
We set a new record with knocking out three covers this day, so you can expect more to come… Very soon! ;)
"The people who are meant to be in your life will always gravitate back toward you, no matter how far they wander."
Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (Cover by Ayana Giann Carlos & Rachel Ann Cauilan)
It's such a strange and special feeling to realize that no matter how far you may drift off--doing the things you love and being your own person--there are those certain people who always remain.
Whether it be a mother or brother, a friend or classmate, there's something quite different when it's someone you've lived a great deal of your life right next to, traveling on different paths but always meeting again; when it's someone who has ideals and dreams and passions as great as yours that no one else can really quite understand.
When you grow up feeling rather different and apart, always seeking more than finding comfort in the present, it can be difficult to appreciate what's right in front of you. But, as I have come to realize over the years with age, there's no real joy than in experiencing moments in the present--making those dreams you envision for yourself a part of your reality.
As any artist can relate, there's a particular joy in expressing yourself in a medium that allows you feel most like you--moments that take you higher than reality.
"I remember when I remember, I remember when I lost my mind There was something so pleasant about that place"
Wherever you find yourself in life, you are the first and only one who can decide to make a move to change it or stay with it. Taking a step back to embrace the youth and innocence and recklessness you can have with your age is a gift in itself.
Allow yourself to go crazy. And remember that as people come and go all the time, so do the moments. Nothing can stay relevant forever, but what you make of it can.
don't know if you got my link.. haha but let me know!
Got it, thank you so much!
