As for age... I'm not sure it's a big deal to them. In their way of life I'd think that pretty much after you've hit "adult" they stop judging your age by how many years you've been alive and instead by what you've seen and done. People would grow up fast. Nobody calls a soldier a child when they come back from war. As for 'kid' that's typical (especially those with military background) to refer to anyone younger than them as kid. I've seen people 60 years old do it to people 40 years old.

Yes, exactly! :) I don’t think ‘kid’ means he thinks Charlie’s a child. He was willing to shoot her in season 1, after all. He does treat her like an adult. He trusted her to cover his back in 2x05 when him and Miles took out those patriots.

Hey! Saw your post about Charlie and Monroe and couldn't help but comment. :P I think the reason they have Monroe as 45 instead of closer to his own actually age is because of Billy Burke (Miles). He'll be 47 this month. They wanted Miles and Monroe to have grown up and done everything together - to be brothers. It wouldn't be as close of a bond if there were a lot of years separating them.

I completely agree! That is definitely, 100% the reason Monroe is 45 y/o. As for David being much younger in real life than his character, I do think it’s because his character Monroe was created before he was cast, and Kripke kind of forgave that Lyons didn’t look that old because he was the perfect Monroe. Like I get the feeling the show was written with the idea that Billy Burke would be Miles Matheson, so it was more important the ages and timelines were more accurate for him than for the other characters. It’s one of those things you just shrug to and go along with. Not to mention, William Shatner is 82, and he doesn’t look that old. ;) Some people just age gracefully.
