Time to talk about my weird-ass dreams and how sometimes they're fun and I saw Amanda Tapping's underwear
I was trying to find a seat in this convention hall, and I got to a row with a few empty seats by the aisle and THEY'RE RIGHT BEHIND AMANDA TAPPING. Like this place didn't follow any of the rules of real conventions - other actors and people who had later panels could just sit in the audience and watch - so I took my seat behind her and fangirled over her and she was really sweet and didn't mind that I pointed out her jeans were kind of slipping down so her pink underwear was showing. Though she did teasingly accuse me of staring at her ass. Which I was.
So then my friends A, M, and P show up and I scoot down and none other than Peter Dinklage shows up to my right. He was really snarky and funny and there was something he said that he finished with "cause I'm a GAMER" and I can't even remember but Peter Dinklage was a gamer.
And I haven't even watched or read Game of Thrones (YET) but the current panel was about it. My friends haven't watched it either, but after the panel A and M turned into Sam and Dean and went to go ask the panelist a bunch of questions. I think P turned into Madoka (poofy pink lolita magical girl is kind of her permanent state of being though) and disappeared. So I was left to my own devices.
I had a sort of in-dream flashback to arriving at M's house where we were staying (which is also where the 4 of us stayed IRL during ECCC) and realized I'd somehow lost ALL OF MY COSPLAYS. So I was mad that I couldn't do a single one this whole con.
I went outside and it was almost like a renaissance fair the way all the vendors' booths were on the grass, some covered by tents. I walked past a group of three women, one of whom had a toddler girl, and ALL FOUR OF THEM were wearing MY EXACT COSPLAY of crazy!Azula. It was really weir.
There were also a LOT of Game of Thrones cosplayers, and one of them did an entire solo performance in the middle of the crowd, which involved them singing about their character's whole storyline and tearing away their costume to reveal another one underneath each time the character changed costumes in the story, and it happened a good 5 times. Also my brain had to have made up the whole thing cause I know nothing about this show.
After that I found a corner where there were a couple booths that were clearly competing cause they made basically the same stuff, just trying to one-up each other. And that stuff was like... leatherworking/jewelry/sculpture? They both made these huge dragon figurines out of leather pieces connected by silver chains and glass beads and it must've been magic cause I don't know what was keeping their shape.
Anyway, I walked past the first one kinda quickly cause the girl there had this really harsh look like she was gonna demand I buy some really expensive dragons, and the second girl was caught up in her work, staring down, so I spent more time looking at her stuff. The first girl got really mad and was like "What makes her stuff so much better?" I distracted her anger by suddenly commenting on how long it all must take and I used to make chainmaille so I understand how time consuming this shit is.
I kept moving along but suddenly I was back at M's house, waking up from this dream. Then A came out of the bathroom and I opened my mouth to excitedly tell her how I dreamt that I met Amanda Tapping and Peter Dinklage, but then I actually woke up and realized that A, M, P, and I are far away from each other again but at least I hadn't actually lost all my cosplays.
In conclusion, I have really detailed, specific dreams and I miss ECCC. That is all.
