Takht-e Soleyman (“Throne of Solomon”), also known as Azar Goshnasp, literally "the Fire of the Warrior Kings". The archaeological site of Takht-e Soleyman, in north-western Iran, is situated in a valley set in a volcanic mountain region. The site includes the principal Zoroastrian sanctuary partly rebuilt in the Ilkhanid (Mongol) period (13th century) as well as a temple of the Sasanian period (6th and 7th centuries) dedicated to Anahita. The site has important symbolic significance. The site has strong symbolic and spiritual significance related to fire and water – the principal reason for its occupation from ancient times – and stands as an exceptional testimony of the continuation of a cult related to fire and water over a period of some 2,500 years. تخت سلیمان (یا آتشکده آذرگُشنَسب) نام محوطهٔ تاریخی بزرگی در نزدیکی تَکاب و روستای تخت سلیمان است. آتشکده آذرگشسپ ویژه ارتشیان بود و در شهر و محلی به نام شیز یا گَنجَک بر روی کوه اَسنَوند قرار داشت. آذرگشنسپ به معنای آتش اسب نر است. بر پایهٔ افسانههای ایرانی این آتشگاه بدین علت این طور نامیده شدهاست که کیخسرو هنگام گشودن بهمن دژ در نیمروز با تیرگی شبانه که دیوان با جادوی خود پدیدآورده بودند روبرو شد. آنگاه آتشی بر یال اسب وی فرودآمد و جهان را دیگر باره روشن کرد و کیخسرو پس از پیروزی و گشودن بهمن دژ، به پاس این یاوری اهورایی، آتش فرودآمده را آنجا بنشاند و آن آتش و جایگاه به نام آتش اسب نر (گُشسب یا گُشنسب) نامیده شد. این محل هم اکنون تخت سلیمان نام دارد. پس پشت و پیش اندر آزادگان هـمی رفتـه تـا آذرابـادگـان چو چشمش برآمد بذرگشسب پیاده شد از دور و بگذاشت اسب ز دستـور پـاکیـزه برسم بجست دو رخ را به آب دو دیده بشست بـه بـاژ انـدر آمـد بـه آتـشـکـده نـهـاده بـه درگـاه جـشـن سـده #sasanianarchitecture #sasanian #sassanian #sasanid #sassanid #sasanianempire #Ilkhanid #takhtesoleyman #Solomon #Azargoshasb #Zoroastrian #firetemple #artesianlake #lake #WestAzerbaijan #sunset #iran #unescoworldheritagesite #زرتشتى #ساسانيان #آتشكده #درياچه (at Takht-e Soleymān)
