Almost a full week had passed since the last time she had seen Azazel— since that incident on the mountain that had brought forth unwanted thoughts and the budding of potential feelings that she shoved in a dark box where she hoped they would rot away. Instead, she tried to focus on the shrine and temple duties while taking a small breather from her more...TAXING jobs, which meant she didn’t have a reason to visit that small jewelry shop.
Almost in a comically familiar fashion, Ichika had been sweeping the grounds after performing her morning duties when a couple of the older tenders came to inform her that there was a man that had been standing at the gates for some time now. Concern mixed with confusion— no fuss had been caused to invite trouble, but no ordinary visitor would simply stand at the gates instead of either coming or going.
Was it Azazel? Her feet were already carrying her towards the vast entrance as she left the duty of sweeping behind to the others.
“ So it is you. ”
Unlike the previous time, neither her voice nor stance held hostility as chestnut hues look him over. The memory of their last meeting flashes briefly in her head, but she manages to ignore the thought of his fingers on her skin. She had to TRY and remain pure of thought when donning her traditional robes, if for no other reason than personal rule.
“ Am I to assume you just came to visit me? ”
