A part of Ryoji wished he could see himself the way Hamuko saw him. How she could, after everything he'd told the group, insist he wasn't a monster was beyond him, but it was that kind heart of hers that was so dear to him.

"You're right," he said softly, and he managed a smile of his own as he pulled back to look at her. "We will, so you be strong too, Hamuko-chan. When we meet again, I don't want it to be like this. I want it to be with a smile."

Reluctantly, he pulled away to stand up and moved to the door, but paused before leaving.

"Take care of yourself, okay? Or I'll have to ask Aigis-san not to take her eyes off you." Ryoji looked back one last time, amusement flashing in his eyes at the thought of Aigis hovering around Hamuko. "I'll see you later then."

A smile... as if everyone around her expected her to be the happy-go-lucky girl she was. But since Ryoji accepted her sadness, that was alright. She wanted to smile for him too next time... even if it hurt. She wasn't sure what the world had in store for them.

The Fall... Death. Nyx. All of this couldn't leave her mind, no matter how hard she tried.

Was humanity doomed? She couldn't let that happen when she had so much to live for.

She let out a small chuckle at that. "Yeah... see you later. Thanks for dropping by." With a small wave, she lay back down and sighed deeply. Her mind wasn't quiet at all, yet she was happy to see him.

“It was farther north than we are now, close to Wakkanai.” Portions of the case had taken her there, but that wasn’t exactly relevant. “It involved a dispute between a family. The person who had asked for help was one of the connections my grandfather had made over the years. I can’t share many details, but it involved missing inheritances and a bit of a chase. Honestly, it reminded me of The Inugami Murders, but without the bloodshed.”

And that was only a good thing. “I did visit Cape Sōya after the dust had been settled, so my entire Hokkaido experience wasn’t limited to family drama.” She sighed, then added a few more pieces of meat and vegetables onto the grill. “I didn’t think I’d return here, let alone know someone who used to live here.” 

Who was none other than Yosuke.

"Ooh... sounds like it was a mess." A complicated mess for sure and he wasn't sure he'd be able to figure it out if he were in her shoes. Only a genius like Naoto could do it. He was so thankful he met her. Without her, they wouldn't have solved their own case back in Inaba. Besides, he was lucky enough to have a place in her heart too.

It still baffled him at times because he had done some idiotic things in the past.

"Cape Sōya, huh? I know that place. I've been there lots of times before with my parents. As a kid, anyway. I'd love to take you there again. As my girlfriend. We might find some cool spots to have fun and take some pictures." Just the thought of it was exciting in his eyes while he resumed eating and placed another piece of meat on the grill. "Sightseeing without a case in your mind is all the fun!"

Passionate?? Hmmm….well the lyrics were about ‘sticking it to the man’ in a sense. It’s about following one’s own path to justice, and that really resonates with Yusuke on a spiritual level, but of course that’s an aspect of his life he couldn’t share with just about anyone..especially the girl he’s supposed to be protecting from crazy fans.

But what surprised him the most is the fact he’d actually have fun on this gig. This was something he figured was going to be boring but the two of them were actually having fun..and with enough time on their session for one more song- “Might as well go out with a bang. Ya got one the two of us could jam out together?”

Nodding, she took a sip of water from her bottle on the table and grabbed the remote, going through their options on the screen, feeling more energised than before. She got up from her seat once she was done.

"Sure! How about this one? It's a popular R&B song, apparently." Although she's only heard it once or twice from some teens or on the radio while on a ride somewhere, it seemed fitting for both of them. A relaxing and calming song compared to the previous ones, and a perfect way to end their performance.

Taking hold of the microphone, she sang first with more confidence and calmness as the song required.
