This was located on the ground level of the fort with a setting to the old parade ground, barracks ruin, and meadow.

A Hillside of Pinnacles While Enjoying Views Along the Moses Spring Trail (Pinnacles National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A setting looking to the southwest while taking in views across volcanic eroded pinnacle formations in Pinnacles National Park. This was while walking the Moses Spring Trail. My thought on composing this image was to zoom in with the focal length and have much of the hillside with the pinnacle formations fill the image from edge to edge. There would be a little bit of blue skies above to complement the earth-tones in the rest of the image. I also included some nearby foreground, even though it was more in shadows, but I help felt it helped to create a layered look and lead a viewer into the main portion of the image.

A View to the Chisos Mountains from the Fossil Discovery Exhibit (Big Bend National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A setting looking to the southwest while taking in views across desert landscape present at the Fossil Discovery Exhibit in Big Bend National Park. Even with a more leveled on view with my Nikon SLR camera, I felt I was able to create a sweeping view leading up to the Chisos Mountains off in the distance. The blue skies with clouds above would be that color contrast to complement the earth tones in the lower portion of the image.

It's Time to Head Out on the Expedition of Living (Denali National Park & Preserve) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: Tundra that stretched across hills and ridgelines until coming up to the foothills of the Alaska Range with Denali towering above it all, even hidden amongst the clouds that morning. That pretty much sums up this view to the southwest while taking a bus ride from the North Face Lodge along the park road. I did some initial post-processing work making adjustments to contrast, brightness and saturation while playing around as I learned how to work with DxO PhotoLab 3. I later used the ClearView Plus tool to help clear up some of the view through the clouds present.

The Impact of Less with Rocks (Black & White) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A conversion to black & white using Silver Efex Pro 2 where I made some adjustments to color filters to bring out a much richer tonal contrast for the final image. This was while walking along a riverbank in Talkeetna, AK.
