This is the flag that once used to hang above the Azovstal metallurgy plant in Mariupol. Both the city and the plant were completely destroyed, the flag was damaged by the constant shelling, and yet, it’s still here.

2 years since Mariupol defenders started to leave Azovstal in Mariupol and were captured by russians. Around 2000 Mariupol defenders are still in russian captivity.

Among those released are servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, and the State Border Guard Service. They include privates, sergeants, and officers who defended Ukraine in Mariupol and at Azovstal, as well as on the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kyiv, and Kursk sectors. Some of them are returning home after years in Russian captivity, having been held since 2022.

Ukraine is grateful to everyone who helps make these exchanges possible. Bringing every Ukrainian home remains our priority.
