This piece was originally gonna be for @fanartfrenzy way back in January, for the bingo square “make fanart for a fic that features an Original Character”, but obviously that didn’t happen, so I repurposed it for @azrisweek !
It’s based on a scene in Chapter 5, Congress of Weapons Manufacturers and Military Leaders, in stellar fic “Taming of the Vanserra” by the iconic @futurehunt ! One of my fav azris fics of all time fr fr (FUTUUUURE drop another chapter and my LIFE is YOURS) (jk obviously take your time). Future’s OC that I decided to focus on is Larssen, pictured here being a cheeky little shit and facing the immediate consequences, but obviously I had to give a lotta love to the main pairing of the fic, so I figure it still works for the event week😜
I reaaally wanted to get the part 2 finished for today as well but that obviously didn’t happen so knowing me it’ll probably take another 5 months. Anyways. Please ignore the 1 million tangent lines. Also side not, this is maybe my favorite Eris Outfit I’ve ever drawn. Shoutout to futurehunt for describing him so HAWT. Whew. Thank you future, for making such a fun and engaging and just downright COOL fic! I will have a part 2 one day!

I look forward to this every year and I feel so lucky to be amongst such amazing writers and artists not just this week, but all year round. Yall are seriously a one of a kind community and I’m so glad to have gotten to know some of you, and excited to meet those I haven’t yet!
One by one, deliberate and unhurried, Eris removes his rings and puts them into the shallow crystal saucer on the bedside table. The signet from his little finger. The wax sigil from his ring finger.
Here it is. The last one, winged and gleaming. The precious one. The only one that matters. He sucks in a huge, anticipatory breath and tightens his belly; slides it slowly off his finger and drops it clinking into the crystal.
Darkness creeps from every shadow in the room, slowly at first and then faster; it gathers and coalesces, some faint shimmering thing emerging from its inky swirling depths. A form on the bed, gradually coming clear. Curled foetal, his beloved’s massive wings drape sideways; blueblack hair gleams in the candlelight and frames this most perfect of faces. Plush lips slightly parted in sleep, long black lashes resting peaceful on those sculpted cheekbones.
Eris drops to a crouch by the side of the bed, watching, waiting, aching for that first wonderful moment, and here it is; a sleepy blink, another, and then the instant of recognition and the pleased crinkle. Azriel pushes himself up onto one elbow, rubbing at his eyes.
Oh, he says, like he always does. Did I fall asleep?
Yes, darling. But you’re awake now.

Usually, he means it. But when it’s said during… bedroom activities, Eris Vanserra telling him to shut up usually means : “Your voice turns me on so much that I’ll cum right here and now if you keep talking.”
3. “What are you doing?” (When Azriel is busy doing something. For example, paperwork for Rhysand.)
I’m bored and I need you to give me some attention.
4. “How’s your family doing?”
How’re Nyx and Nesta doing? I couldn’t care less about the other idiots and I’m going to roll my eyes hard if you bring anyone else up.
5. “You look like shit.”
You look as if you haven’t slept in days, and I’m truly worried about you. However, I don’t want you to take my concern as pity, so instead I’m insulting you.
6. “The dogs have missed you.”
I’ve missed you.
7. “Leave me alone.”
Please, stay.
8. “Make me.”
You actually don’t have to make me. I’d willingly do anything you ask me without hesitation. I just want to be an asshole for fun, to test limits. ;)
9. “I’m not tired.” (Bonus when he stifles a yawn)
I haven’t slept more than three hours in a row for days.
10. “I’m starting to get sleepy…” (When they’re both reading on the couch late at night)
Please carry me to bed.
11. “I sleep just fine without you.”
I want you by my side in my bed every night for the rest of my life. I only sleep well if I’m by your side. That’s because I feel protected when you’re around.
12. “Let’s take a bath, you stink.” (When Azriel comes back from a mission)
I want to bathe together so I can undress you and see for myself that you’re not hurt.
13. “I love you.”
So much so that I’d let the world burn if you’d ask me to.
14. “It’s been a long day.”
I want you to serve us some wine and snacks while I tell you all about my shit day.
15. “Please.” (With a snarl)
If you don’t do it, the next step is me biting you.
16. “I’ve been thinking…”
I’ve been plotting this for weeks.
17. “Dance with me.”
Let me be close to you, touch me, and let me touch you.
18. “Fancy a game of chess?”
I want to beat you at chess to feel in control and to boost my confidence.
19. “Guess what I’ve learned today.”
I’m about to gossip/yap your ears out for the next few hours.
20. “This color really suits you...”
I’m about to add twenty more outfits in this color to your wardrobe because you look biteable in it.
