Replaying Fire Emblem Three Houses 🤗
Convince me which house to choose
What if there was an 'After' after Azure Moon? Some ideas and OC's :)
What are Crown Wardens?
Federalized marshals serving unified Fódlan's new justice system. Recruited based on merit rather than bloodline, they investigate crimes, gather evidence, and enforce the law across all three former nations. They answer to the Lord High Justiciar and swear oaths to serve the people. They wear black uniforms with silver embroidery and wolf badges—a symbol that loyalty to truth supersedes loyalty to power.
Kiran Agnes Harlock | Lord High Justiciar | Architect of Fódlan's post-war justice system
Foreign-born, elevated from minor Faerghus nobility through demonstrated capability during the war. Her methods are as effective as they are controversial—using public trials as education, building systems designed to outlast their creator, and wielding mercy like a weapon. Some call her the Ice Witch. Others call her necessary. She calls herself pragmatic.
"Tradition is a map, not a destination. Cut the rot, keep the roots. Use it or burn it, but don't worship it."
Sylvain Jose Gautier | Special Investigator | Noble Liaison
Tasked by Margrave Gautier to investigate the woman who has the king's ear and unprecedented authority. He knows her darkest secret but remains uncertain if she can be trusted with so much power. Initially a temporary ally meant to monitor her, he's found himself becoming something more—protective of both his friend the king and the woman who's proven more principled than noble. He understands nobility, playing good guard to her bad guard. The charming rake discovers he's more capable than he ever gave himself credit for.
"I came here to make sure she wasn't manipulating him. Turns out she's manipulating everyone—for the right reasons, I think. Still deciding if that makes it better or worse."
Ashe Ubert | Investigator | Idealist in Training
Former knight aspirant who joined the Crown Wardens after learning the Church used the Tragedy of Duscur to eliminate dissenters—including framing his adoptive brother Christophe. Believes in justice, mercy, and doing things the right way. His idealism sometimes clashes with Kiran's pragmatism, but she respects him for standing his ground. Learning the difference between principles and field application the hard way.
"We're supposed to be better than the system we're replacing. If we're not, what's the point?"
Nadia Talaga | Senior Scribe | Keeper of Records
Duscuri woman who survived the genocide, enslaved by a Faerghus noble who expected gratitude for his 'benevolence.' When Crown Wardens protected her former master from an angry mob, she spat at Kiran's feet—then was offered a position to hold the Justiciar accountable from within. Now serves as scribe, mediator between first-generation wardens, and teacher to illiterate members. Watching to see if justice is real or another Faerghus lie.
"I document everything. Every case, every decision. History will judge if this was justice or just more elaborate oppression."
Leonie Pinelli | Field Investigator | The Scrapper
Mercenary who blamed Crown Wardens for stealing her job opportunities until Kiran found her drunk and in debt. Given a choice between adaptation and continued resentment, she chose the former. Now one of the most effective field operatives, her mercenary pragmatism balanced by genuine belief in the work. Still terrible with money, but at least it's a steady paycheck.
"Thought I'd hate working for 'Boss Lady.' Turns out hunting criminals pays better than hunting bandits, and I don't have to negotiate my own contracts."
Vergil von Gillinger | Assistant to the Lord High Justiciar | Administration
Fourth son of an Adrestian baron, overlooked by more accomplished military and politically-minded siblings. Possesses excellent memory, administrative genius, and knows exactly how Kiran prefers her coffee (black) and venison (bloody). One of the students she helped evacuate during Garreg Mach's fall. Remembers when she complimented his poetry. She doesn't remember. His devotion is… notable.
"The High Justiciar requires her case files from the Gaspard investigation, transcripts from the Kleiman trial, and—please step on me, Your Excellency—three copies of the new training curriculum."
Balthus von Albrecht | Enforcement Specialist | The Muscle
Disappeared from polite society years ago, resurfaced through Yuri's recommendation. His gambling addiction and frequent brothel visits irritate Kiran, though he makes up for it by gathering valuable information in places respectable wardens can't reach. Made the mistake of calling her 'little lady' once—spent three hours frozen to a wall reconsidering his word choices. 'Boss Lady' is acceptable.
"She's got no sense of humor about nicknames, but damn if she doesn't know how to make people talk without laying a finger on them."
Rolf | Field Investigator | Executioner
Son of a notorious bandit, raised in a world of blood and theft. During the war his band attacked an imperial caravan and got decimated in a blizzard. As the only survivor he was left for dead in the snow, caught a glimpse of a figure collecting what seems to be blood. This incident freed him from his bastard father but left him adrift. Applied to Crown Wardens for the money, stayed for the purpose. The most ruthless operative, he believes Kiran is growing soft, compromised by politics and people like Ashe. Lives by "justice with teeth".
"Mercy is wasted on trash. The Justiciar taught me that. Lately she's forgetting. Someone needs to remember what we really are."
Asset (Ass) | Morale Officer | Cat
Stray cat. Adopted the Crown Wardens, or possibly the other way around. Kiran named it "Asset" for tax purposes. Everyone calls it "Ass." Excellent morale for the troops. Shows favoritism toward whoever brings the best scraps. Judges silently from high perches. Fed by Nadia, petted by Ashe, given tactical analysis by Vergil. Occasionally knocks important documents off desks. Provides emotional support through aggressive indifference. Possibly the only member who can walk on Kiran's desk without consequences.
"Mrrp." (Translation: I run this place.)
First Generation. Recruited from soldiers, mercenaries, the marginalized, and one extremely useless cat. They came from different worlds. The only thing they share? A wolf badge and a woman who'll use them all to build something that outlasts her. Whether that makes them heroes or fools remains to be seen.
