not to sound like an ungrateful bitch bc i know this vacay will be good but it is kinda awkward that i don’t rlly know any of these people except one and even then we don’t know each other well

like. my husband’s friends that are hosting us got married last month and i just found out on the plane ride right after we landed because my husband forgot to tell me

it lowkey sounds like my husband is the problem and he’s not, he’s genuinely a great person. I’m just grumpy and he’s kinda sucking at communicating

just spent like $400 to go see salome with my partners on my birthday in a couple months. i need more opera gigs so i can buy more opera tickets. i must sing to support my opera addiction.

i've started using a walking stick to help me get around and i was kinda self conscious about it—one because it always feels a lil weird to stick (hehe) out, and two because the stick itself is a few inches taller than me, like it's legit huge—but literally everyone's been complimenting it and someone asked me what its name is. i never even considered naming the stick. he told me to let him know what i end up naming it next time i see him. i told him i would. but like. it is a stick. what does one even name a stick

dude, all of my opera colleagues are like, minimum ten years older than me and a thousand times more comfortable than i am and have warmer and fuller voices than i do and i go watch them sing and they're singing repertoire that's way more mature than my repertoire and like. nobody's treating me like a baby at the adult table but i very much feel like a baby at the adult table. i feel like a small animal wearing a propeller hat clutching a lollipop

oof, my husband is laying down so i’m alone with his friends and they’ve spent the last 25 minutes bickering about/deciding their dog’s upcoming daycare schedule 🙃

idk if we’re going to end up doing the one activity that i specifically mentioned that i want to do while we’re here bc the friends don’t seem very interested. it rlly bums me out bc i feel like i should be able to do at least one thing i want to do on my vacation. that hasn’t been the case at all and it’s my wedding anniversary today and i feel like it’s not cool to dictate what a couple does on their anniversary, especially when we’ve had very little input the entire time.

like, it’s been an objectively nice trip for sure! we’ve done cool things and had positive experiences, for the most part. it is just not relaxing in the slightest and i’m dreading going back to work since i’m more burnt out now than i was before we left.
