A rare actual sketch page from the sketchbook I’ve been using since 2019, if only because I felt like uploading it. Some figuring out of a character complete with my generally vague, scribbled notes. He’s not really capable of facial expressions while in more monstrous form. Bit off-model, but I’m never super concerned about that with sketches.
Okay, I don’t really post my art here because I get even less engagement on Tumblr than I do with my nearly 8 year-old deviantART account [0 notes vs. 1-2 Favorites is a big difference]. You know what? I’m slapping this on Tumblr anyway. Why not. This didn’t come out exactly how I wanted, and that’s mostly due to the fact that my pencils really cannot handle skin tones well. But I’m pretty dang proud of it. I usually don’t take pride in my art. Or much of anything. Once again, this Clayface design is specific to the one I pen and any similarities to canon material are unintentional; wanted to take a departure from the typical fanon designs where the more human him looks rather like Lon Chaney/Vincent Price. I don’t like designs looking same-y, it’s frankly a major pet peeve of mine.
Will Tumblr flag this as NSFW? I don’t know! We’ll find out. Is it currently 1 AM in my timezone? Yes. Did I have to re-add some things to this image digitally because my phone camera likes to constantly eat my shading/small details? Also yes. Do I hate how the way I draw hands looks on-camera? Absolutely yes. Trying to make coherent designs that don’t take from the echo chamber that fandom can be is fun. Obviously, this is pre-Clayface. Anyways.

So this will probably break 800 words at the least. I don’t know how long this will be, just haven’t really been in the mood to write recently for very obvious reasons. Not been making too much progress, kind of physically exhausted right now. Also it would be nice if people stopped stealing packages of ours, all you’re getting is floor polish and epoxy because we were the ones that had to fix up the old rental before the landlord moved in [thankfully that was finally finished last night]. Can’t imagine that can be flipped for that much. 🙄
You’d think I’d make more of an effort to figure out how exactly my Clayface design works but no. I adamantly refuse. I draw like twice every 8 months, I’d be shocked if anyone was surprised. Anyways, I’ve completely forgotten where I was going with this post.
You can have one (1) over 8-foot-tall, vaguely humanoid behemoth with severe glaucoma who sounds uncannily like the late Vincent Price, as a treat. Also he kind of has no actual bones, so I don’t know what the fuck those are doing there. As I’ve said before, mostly my work as a general is going to remain exclusive to my deviantART account because I can’t really be assed to copy everything over. Also Tumblr is a fucking terrible platform for most content creators [even if I haven’t really been here since like 2012 I’ve still seen the fallout on blogs I’ve been interested in over the years] and that’s the truth.
I have had exactly 0 motivation to be doing anything of note this week and am honestly just burned out on everything at the moment, but, you know that super loud Vine with the umbrellas blowing down the beach? And there’s people running away from them + one guy who throws an entire surfboard at an umbrella, hoping to make some dent in a futile situation.
Yeah, label the umbrellas with “Basil Karlo” and slap a “Basically the entire rest of the Rogues Gallery” tag on...literally everything else in the video and you’ve got how everyone interacts with Bas down pat, at least in terms of anything having to do with the Rogues I write. He’s sweet with Mary [Baby-Doll] and Victor [Fries] but with anyone else...well, if he threatens you, he’ll make good on his word. You’d better hope that you can cover a great distance in a short amount of time; although that isn’t likely to save you. He may only be able to see vague blobs of color and changes in lighting these days, but A) he can hear perfectly fine, and B) he is quite fast.
