It’s been a while since I wanted to purchase this album, but I finally did it last month. And now I have to buy Ego (I’ve written this review in early January and I can say that I still haven’t bought Ego, I’m not a big fan of the title track)... Why isn’t B.A.P. taking a rest so I won’t be too broke (at the same time, I sincerely wish for them to continue making frequent comebacks because if they do, it means that they are earning enough to make so many comebacks). So now, I’ll review it.
As most of my recent purchase, I bought B.A.P. Rose on Ktown4u at the price of 15.64$ (CAN) without shipping fees. Well, I say 15.64, but if I remember well I had a small reduction due to the Black Friday, so it’s not exactly that, but around that. Since I had reduction I just bought a LOT of albums - about eight - so I’m still putting back the review of many many albums (such as JunHo’s solo album).
Since this is a mini album, it contains only three songs. Which is quite little for that price (or maybe I’m the cheap person... Yeah... I’m a cheap person, everybody knows it...). On Itunes, the album costs about 3$ (2.99$ CAN), which means that about 12$ of the price is reserved to the material copy. For the songs, I’ll be honest. I completely love Dystopia and Wake Me Up, but Diamond 4 Ya is less my type. But, overall, I have to admit that B.A.P. is good at making bop (hey... is that my multi-fandom personality that is coming out?).
So, is the material copy worth around 12$? The packaging is quite standard. It’s under the form of a booklet, which means that the CD is placed at the end in a envelop. Most of the album is dedied to the photobook, who is, by the occasion, quite small if you compare it to Blue, which is the mini album right after Rose (that I purchased before Rose... Find the logic... The logic is that Rose was out of stock when I purchased Blue). Sure, the photoshoots are absolutely amazing - I have to admit that the Wake Me Up MV is probably one of my favorite one aestethicly speaking. I mean, it’s absolutely awesome and I love the lyrics... But, aside from that... I think there is too little who come with the album. Even if I have two photocards (one of regular size and another who’s just huge), I feel as if the content isn’t that much. The design of the CD is quite ordinary and, aside from the amazing design of the rose (yes, I chose this cover because I thought it was prettier than the other) the album is quite simple.
If I would have to chose between the material and digital copy, I would recommend to buy the digital copy unless you absolutely want the album. Seriously, content-wise it’s not the best B.A.P.’s album, even though I must admit that song-wise, it’s perfect.
