     the deputy stood up as he had his hand hovering over the gun that was in it’s holster. he hated that this man came back to his town, and he wasn’t about to sit idly by and let him do whatever he wanted.

             “this town is full of good people, people that i’ve sworn to protect, and i’m not going to allow you to do what you please..” his eyes narrowed as he looked at the doctor. “so leave.”

             there’s nothing new about seeing the doctor frustrated or angry .     there’s also nothing new about the doctor lashing out .     stone just watches as robotnik’s hand comes down hard on the control panel ,     but he doesn’t flinch .         COULD HAVE SEEN THAT COMING FROM A MILE AWAY .     he does step briefly to one side as that chair comes clattering down by his feet ,     and when he turns his eyes up from the ground he can clearly see the ire in the other’s expression .    ire closely followed by a threat .     he could have left a while ago .    he could leave now .     he could run away from all of this and let robotnik figure out his issues on his own ,    let him take it out on the local environment .    but he’s not run away from robotnik before ,   and he doesn’t intend to start now .    plus ,   being excused isn’t exactly the same as being dismissed .

            he makes a point of holding eye contact ,    even if the other’s gaze is full of fiery rage .      HE DOESN’T MOVE .     other than a small shift of his feet ,    like he’s trying to stand up straighter ,   or trying to balance his weight .    even if he won’t leave ,   he’s still fully cautious about what exactly he says to the other .      he doesn’t exactly want to anger him even more .     he might be brave ,   but he’s not stupid .    his eyes drift briefly to the chair at his feet again .    ❛   i just want to make sure you don’t break anything important .    ❜

The comment has her pausing her mug in mid air, grip tightening on the ceramic as head grants a slight tilt. It comes unexpected, and at a rather quiet time after his granted explanation behind his injuries. Not quite severe ones, but perhaps he’s here also to obtain some shelter before returning out there. Something about…what was it again?

HOWEVER INEXPERIENCED HE MIGHT’VE BEEN IN THE AREA OF ROMANCE, HE LIKED TO THINK HE HAD REMNANTS OF UNDERSTANDING, AT LEAST. However, at the other’s statement, he found himsef staring at him with a look of evident confusion, brow raising and staying raised.
