Okay so randomly going through Google pictures I found this picture!

Adorable right!? Hold on, on the gushing I'm not done yet.

If you take a closer look at the picture. You can see this tiny board that clearly says '99 Family Picnic' (if I'm not mistaken) in the background.

I can't read much else but Come on!!!! That's such a great fic idea! Jake goofing around as a bachelor at the family picnics. He's just full fun and a few inappropriate jokes here and there but he'd unconsciously be sooo popular among the kids cause he's kid-like so they immediately love him. While Amy's just sitting there sulking cause the kids think she's nerdy. But she'll find some beat cop's daughter and they'll be talking about books and it'll brighten up her and Jake's day. (He'll also annoy and make fun of her to no end ofcourse.)

But then two years later, he has Amy to go with and they just own the event taking care of the kids and playing along. Just geniunly enjoying the sun, sitting arm in arm, talking to their peers.

But the best family picnics are when they have a kid of their own. She'll be in an adorable frok, braided hair. Her Dad holding her in his arms as they walk in the park, arm in arm with her Mom, smiling the brightest grin anyone in the Nine Nine has ever seen adorning their faces. Suffice it to say Jake and Amy never felt more estatic playing and watching a kid smile than as they do when their own daughter smiles.

I just.......... I'll let you guys imagine the rest.

Here's what I love about this scene.

Sensibility.

It was heart breaking to say the least. A possibility that they may not be able to continue their relationship. But I loved how Amy wasn't willing to let Jake throw away his career for her. It warms my heart. She knows how important his job is to him and how much he loves it. She also knows he cares about their relationship dearly and is willing to give up on the one thing he loves the most for their 6 day relationship. But she wouldn't have it. She cared for Jake just as much, she wouldn't be as illogical to leave his whole life on chance.

We don't usually see that in relashionships. There's usually an illogical grand gesture that doesn't make sense. But not with Jake and Amy. Because Amy despite the love she had for Jake would not, in her right mind, let him sacrafice himself for something they are yet discovering. A life intertwined. A life together.

To me itshows the most beautiful gestures of love as well. Amy's beautiful gesture was in her mindfulness. As for Jake, his cute little smile as he says 'This is good.' He's clearly waited long enough and in no way is willing to give up on Amy anytime soon. She's genuinely made him happy in the short while they have been together. So in just 6 days he's sure; he's gonna give it all he's got. He's going to fight for Amy Santiago.

It also shows how deeply Jake loves. He was willing to work for his relationship with Sophia and he's definitely willing to lay sacrafices for Amy. He loves with all he's got. And I think it's the most beautiful thing that adds a hell of a lot to his character. ❤️

Season 7

I know everyone's so happy about Brooklyn Nine Nine's season 7 and so am I but here me out. (This is gonna be a bit of a bummer so probably read at your own will.)

I love NBC for renewing the show for season 6. If it wasn't for them alot would have been so different. There would have been so much that we never got to see. So many jokes that we could laugh on. And we'd still be super depressed that this amazing show didn't get the ending and the due run it deserves. So really thank you NBC from the bottom of my heart.

But the reason NBC renewed the show was to give it a 'proper ending' with 13 episodes to which 5 epsiodes were later added because of the fan support. Whilst I'm glad this show is renewed for a season 7 for some reason it doesn't seem fair that it should get only 13 episodes.

It feels like the end.

And I'm not ready for that. Brooklyn Nine Nine is not ready for that. This show has still so much to offer, so much to give. It can easily run a successful 22 episode season as it has for five seasons and it sucks that its beings sullied down to just 13 episodes per year.

And it's not just that; one of the most amazing thing about Brooklyn Nine Nine has always been it's Halloween episodes. We had a chance to get the Halloween heist on Halloween and it was snatched from us. I feel robbed honestly. And I wish I could see b99 cover another Christmas and thanksgiving. And if next season is going to focus on Amy's pregnancy just as Season 5 focuses on their wedding, I'd be more upset so because we could have had 22 epsidoes of this but here we are compromising on 13 and it might just be the end because for one reason or another it sure as hell feels like that.

The universe is cruel and unpredictable. Not everything is in our control and sometimes things definetly happen that we can not control. Brooklyn Nine Nine's new breath of life feels synonymous to life-support. They hold the power to cut it off at any given moment. And if they do, who is to say it'll come back once more if it's lost again?

There was this very obvious detail in this scene and I'm sure everyone realised it and caught up on it, but I'm not sure I've seen it brought up enough so here it is again.

There lies a beauty in this hug; immensely deep, exceedingly sincere and very evident.

When Amy inquires on Jake's well being, before moving in for a hug Jake says 'I'm okay.' but only once he's safely in between her arms. Secured and loved. Her presence beside him.

It's so lovely that Jake, after his near death experience, was so comfortable in Amy's embrace that it was in that moment and only then, that he was completely okay. Only because she was beside him. Right next to him. She wasn't leaving him. She was hugging him, concerned and worried.

The love in his little smile and sigh of bliss is singular and unmatched.

Put yourselves in his shoes. What would make you feel so emotionally stable to say that you're okay after a trauma? How many times do we just need a hug to feel like there's someone holding us together? And can we not most often than not place that person too?

Amy did that for him. Amy is that person for Jake. She erased all his fears whilst she was hugging him. She calmed him. Her love gave him stability and strenght to face the world once again. ❤️

In the Background

One of the things I love about Brooklyn 99 is the characters response to one another. Like I’ve watched The Office and loved it but the thing that annoys me the most about it is that Jim is genuinely a good and funny guy but everyone’s on their own high horse not laughing at his jokes or giving him a response, most of the time. And that irritates me because Jim Halpert is a funny guy! Other than one or two scenes where everyone or someone is laughing at his jokes there’s like no other example. 

But take Brooklyn Nine Nine, I love this show. Everyone’s response to Jake’s antics is so spot on and so much fun. Be it disgust, a genuine smile, or laughter.

 I can so easily see why Jake and Rosa are friends. It’s because Rosa knows and thinks Jake is really funny. I can name numerous examples. The Halloween “Title of your sex tape” joke, Rosa laughs on every single one of those and even high fives Jake. The Cold open where Amy is late you can see Rosa is laughing on Holt and Jake’s exchange. The same is with Gina. Amy laughs on Jake’s jokes too! And I’m taking pre-relationship in the second episode when Jake says hell put Charles down for bummer. Even Raymond freaking Holt finds him funny. He went along with his joke in the first episode and he even smiles on Jake’s joke of media content in season 1. (I understand it might be Andre laughing but I still find it so cute!!) And an honorary mention to Rosa smiling when Jake is talking lovingly about Amy before going to his high school reunion. That’s support and love for their relationship and it’s heart warming to see. 

Point is in Brooklyn Nine Nine they cherish Jake and his spirit. His goofiness and happy go lucky character. He does get annoying at times sure, they show that too! But he’s also funny and unique and makes their day better and they’re not afraid to show it. Which is something I love. They cherish Jake Peralta and I’m here for it. If it doesn’t come up in words it definitely shows in their expressions. Because after all, don’t actions speak louder than words?
