oaky so oikawa does this thing he often shortens people's names to the first part of their first and last name (kyoutani kentarou is Kyouken-chan, Ushijima Wakatoshi is Ushiwaka)

I wondered what he would call yamaguchi if his name was shortened like that

Yamaguchi's first name is only one character though so hypothetically you cant really split it into like tada-shi or tad-ashi, so it couldn't be something like ‘Yamatada’ or w/e

so I went into google translate and just removed the 'guchi' character in yamaguchi so it was basically yamatadashi but then the characters end up translating to "Yamachu" and if that isn't the cutest fucking nickname

I’ve now decided that, along with bambi-chan, oikawa calls yamaguchi “Yamachu” bc its adorable and i love it

Senpai and I made up an Au in which Yamaguchi has been sexual abused by Akiteru since he was little and its really horrible and depressing bc Yamaguchi will never tell anyone bc he knows how much Kei loves and looks up to his big brother (even after the lies) and he just can’t take that away from him.

imagine if Yamaguchi has a special nickname for Tsukishima and he doesn’t let anyone but Yamaguchi call him that oh waIT DID YOU SAY THAT WAS CANON? ????

After seeing this, I have the headcanon that Yamaguchi is stupid good at playing cards. It probably started with Pokemon cards, which were then banned at his school after he made several kids cry when he added their deck to his collection (he only ever played for keeps)

He plays dirty and definitely gambles.  Doesn’t matter if he’s playing for money or meat buns, there are no ‘free’ games with Yamaguchi.

He has known how to effectively hustle since he was in 1st grade, and taught himself to count cards by the time he was in 6th.

He only rarely plays, mainly because if he played too much, he would lose all of his friends.

Tsukishima takes extra pride in watching Yamaguchi savagely destroy all of his opponents.  Says it’s good to let your ‘inner evil’ out every once in a while. He, of course, knows better than to ever challenge Yamaguchi.

headcanon that the reason why Yamaguchi calls Tsukishima ‘Tsukki’ is because of the stutter he had as a kid.
