Special elixir... isn’t that just her apple blood?

Is it... this? I noticed it in her bedroom before, but I wasn’t paying attention to the label at the time. But I went back and yup, it’s labeled as “an elixir a day”. Huh.

Eda said that witches used to do magic differently, but she also said that she didn’t know how. How could she be using this other method if she doesn’t know anything about it?

Why hasn’t King just asked her what the elixir is for? I feel as if that would solve whatever problems these two are about to cause in advance. 

A possible answer to both these questions is that King thinks Eda is lying, and I guess I can’t argue with that.
