Look guys look! It’s a tiny baby Barton! I assume this is about 10 minutes after he first arrived at SHIELD.

Maybe I'm deluding myself to get through this never ending story but all I think about the more they bang on about Seb/adoption/parental rights/1 big family is that's it's like when they kept having Robert say he wouldn't cheat on Aaron. Soap logic, the opposite will happen. Now whether in this case it simply means Rebecca's not dead (obvs jfc) and is coming back and that's it let coparenting commence (dull) OR Seb isn't staying with Robron idk!?

ngl this reminds me so much of pre-wedding 1.0 like they got engagend and now they’re talking about the same thing over and over again just like they did then and idk man i’m getting the same vibes

and honestly i look at the way the story is told and?? a paternity twist would just explain every single choice they’re making?? it would finally fill some very gaping plot holes from the last 18 months, ross’ involvement with rebecca, the amount of adoption talk we’re getting constantly without any forward movement on the matter, why they’re dragging out this rebecca stuff i just??

So basically what I think is going to happen is, somehow Ross finds out Seb is actually his son and has a big showdown with Rebecca which will ultimately lead to her death but Robron would of taken Seb and Liv on their honeymoon so they won’t know what’s happened until they get back and Robert will struggle with it and letting Seb go (lets be honest a lot of people die so they don’t face the consequences of the paternity twist) so Ross would have no other choice but to snatch Seb and run. She’ll basically make out by the time she realised he was Ross’ she was far too deep and found it easier to continue lying.

if the spoilers on ds are to be believed and Moira’s baby is actually Cain’s i’ll be pretty disappointed cause it means the baby is a plot device to get Coira back together. The Emmerdale writers seem to love using things that could be actual character and storyline development as plot devices for ships. It’s boring and incredibly obvious. There’s enough chemistry between Cain and Moira for it to be believable that they would get back together again. They didn’t need a plot baby.

Cain doesn’t do raising children, we know that. So are we suddenly supposed to believe that he would be dad of the year to this baby just because it’s Moira’s?

If the baby had been Pete’s and we had a storyline of him coping with his grief by bonding with his son and giving him something outside of the Leyla/Priya drama, he might actually of become a compelling character. We’re not even getting a drama of everyone thinking he’s Pete’s baby for ages and then a shock when it turns out he’s not. If this paternity test is next week then it’s just you’re not the father the end.

We could have had scenes of Ross and Pete bonding over the experience of both suddenly being fathers and Ross telling Pete to buck up his ideas and be a dad. Imagine Pete actually growing as a character...

But no as per usual ships are the most important thing for the Emmerhell writers.

I can’t see a paternity situation happening because Aaron has just lost his baby sister so they won’t have him lose his son.

I know. They would never pile angst on Aaron like that. It’s almost like sending him to prison, have him be abused, get him addicted to drugs and have him get cheated on. Doesn’t that just sound unbelievable? They’d never do that to him!
