Some times the hills call, sometimes he calls, and you cannot go. So bathe in the wine instead. Perhaps with a friend.

This is 6 boxes of wine, later followed by 2 pots of boiling water to warm it up and fill the air with wine fumes. Soaking in wine is a whole other level. The Wild Gods have not gathered in so so long. So I and one other bacchant steeped in madness in a tiny domestic tub. It's not the same, but absolutely felt surrounded by the oldest form of Dionysus, the wine itself.

Would recommend, even with the tub bleaching afterwards.

This week has been dress to honor Dionysus week, leading up to revel tomorrow. All leopard 🐆 and wine 🍷.

Tomorrow will be peplos and wine and consuming near raw meat in the wild woods. I have missed my satyr sisters and maenad brothers all winter. Dionysus calls us to the spring hills to revel, revel, revel and we... We MUST heed his call...

From the mountaintop we revelled. Dionysus called and we came. Last year it was a monsoon, this year it went from sun to wind to icy storm to wind again, yet we revelled.

This year we had alters for Artemis (not pictured) Dionysus, Aix/Aex (Pan's wife), Hermes, Pan, Dionysus temple, Hestia and second Hermes.

250 plastic eggs filled with naughty adult treats (or coupons if the treats were too *ahem* big) were hidden and 220 of them found with the blessing of trixy, fleet footed Hermes.

The pomegranate/cherry juice and other booze (everclear in the skull, vodka in the amphora) was a hit. As in, the morning recovery was unusually difficult this year, so hit by a Mack truck kid of hit.

No one was quite prepared for hail storm (hail Dionysus is extra funny to me today) or the overnight freezing temps. There was frost by dawn. So madness was clearly experienced as the revel and ritual went for nearly 12 hours. We all liked daylight revel this time and will do it again, but there will be a full meal mandate so we don't damage as many of our fellow Wild Gods members.

When he calls again, I will once more into the woods. I always go, the madness needs me and I need it.
