It's a bad break
His wrist is going to need surgery, but he has to wait until they can schedule it. (Of course; the NHS isn't in crisis. At all.) So, after 2 hours of waiting and five minutes of consultation, we had to retrace our steps. He's safely back in Canterbury.
The drifting has sculpted really stunning cornices along Stone Street, which is the route of the old Roman Road to Canterbury. Of course there are places where the snow has blown all the way across. Road gritting melted it and then it froze again on top. It was fun watching one clown who flew past us lose it completely in our rear view. I guess he slowed down after that. Idiot.
And when you have a 4x4 that's as capable as the Landy, why would you stick to the main roads all the way? Heh. We took a couple of lanes on the way back just because we could. A guy's gotta have some fun, right?
We're all done for the day, nearly 100 miles under our belt and we're safely back home. Thank you for your kind words.
