I've noticed that youtube can only play in the background on accident. I can never get it to keep playing on purpose, but sometimes if I tab over to another app it'll just autoplay when I'm least expecting it. There's no rhyme or reason! Try as I might, I've never been able to replicate the results under laboratory conditions. It's like quantum mechanics, the results change when I actively observe it.
