Discovered - Platonic Moontail (& Background Bartylus) - @taylorswiftmicrofic - 356 words - AO3
Peter flops down on Remus’ bed, pinching one of his chocolate digestives and ignoring the scowl his friend sends his way at the crumbs he gets on his sheets. A flick of his wand and it’ll all disappear though, which is why he can get away with it. “You’ll never believe what I discovered as Wormtail earlier.”
Remus immediately puts his quill down, abandoning his homework to hear the gossip. “Go on.”
“So, you know how everyone thinks Regulus and Pandora are secretly dating?”
“Honestly, I don’t see it,” he muses. “I think they’re just good friends.”
“Well, I hope they are just friends. Pandora is really sweet, once you get past her creepiness and her telling you about all the bugs she has vivisected in her dorm. She does not deserve to be cheated on.”
Peter slaps Remus’ back as he chokes on his biscuit. “Who did you catch Regulus with?”
“You ready for this?” he smirks and Remus nods his head enthusiastically. “So, I was wandering around the Slytherin common room, enjoying all the squealing when people saw a rat, when I was chased into the dorms. And I heard some moans, so I obviously had to check it out.”
“Naturally. Why would you go peak at something like that and risk scarring yourself for life?”
“To be able to tell you,” Peter responds. “Next time, I’ll find Mary to tell her.”
“No, no. I want to know. Who was Regulus with?”
“Baby Black was with none other than…” he pauses dramatically, “Barty Crouch Junior.”
“No!” Remus exclaims.
“Yes.”
“Oh, Sirius is going to hate that. He hates that kid.”
“He only hates him because of how similar they actually are.”
“Don’t tell Regulus you think the guy he is hooking up with is similar to his brother, I think he’d actually kill you.”
He chuckles, and Remus slaps his hand away as he tries to take yet another digestive from the pack. “Should we tell Sirius?”
“And witness all the drama that would surely unfold?” he asks.
“Stupid question. We absolutely have to tell him; it’ll be so entertaining.”
“So entertaining,” Remus agrees.
