Game Complete #17+18

Game Complete #17: Tony Hawk's Project 8

I think I've played this before on PS2, but I don't quite remember. I saw a video covering the PS3 version recently, however, and decided to give it a go. I tried it before but at first it feels so different due to the 30 FPS and the new engine, but in the end, it's a good time. It's Skate before there was Skate, but without the realism of course. I enjoyed this game a lot with its mix of open world and classic gameplay. Wouldn't mind another Tony Hawk open world game like this.

Game Complete #18: Resident Evil 3 Remake

...at last. It's a bit ironic that the shortest Resident Evil game took me the longest to finish, or so it seems. I'd always heard this wasn't a game but only a bad remake, which wouldn't matter to me, as I had never played the original. Still, this was my least RE (that I've beat) so far. It wasn't bad, and sure would've enjoyed it more, if I hadn't played multiple RE games over the last 2 years. I just checked when I first started this, September of last year. I have since played and beaten RE 7+8, then played a bit of 3 before Reqiuem, but ultimately bought, played and beat Reqiuem, before finally returning a couple of days ago. Now, I can finally chill (lol) and play these games as they come. I still have DLC left though, but the only one I'm interested in is the one for RE4 Remake. We'll see when that happens.

Games Complete 14-16

Game Complete #14: THPS 3+4 PRO GOALS

I was wondering whether to include this in my list, since I'd already beaten the main game last year and for 100% you need to do the solo tours as well (aka including beating base game like 20 times?). However, since it took me almost as long (if not even longer) than the main game, I decided to do it. Some of these goals are really hard, but I wanted to be able to replay the levels in solo tours, so that's why I did it. I mean, it's still a great game.

Game Complete #15: The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

This is the big one. I could write a full article about it. Played 40 hours the year it release, a couple since, and now another 40 hours. I barely play games this long anymore, and while the final missions required some grinding, this was still fun grinding. It's crazy how even with the same characters and open world as BOTW, Nintendo were able to create a game that still plays completely differently. While both games are similar, both are unique experiences, and games unlike (almost?) anything else. It's very rare to play a game like this, so unique, so creative, so special. There's so much to see here, the world feels alive, the shrines are great. While playing this again, I thought I liked BOTW more since it's a more focused experience, but after beating this, I'm not sure if I can place one above the other. Just such a great game.

Game Complete #16: Shin-chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation – The Endless Seven-Day Journey

What a long ass title. I've been meaning to finally play and beat one of these games and decided this was the best start. While my 6 hours felt somewhat long since there isn't that much to do, the summer vibes are crazy good. The atmosphere is wonderful, and having watch ShinChan as a child helped the experience. The bundle on Steam has a great sale price, but I'm likely going to wait to play the second game next summer.

Games Complete #12+13

Game Complete #12: Yooka-Replaylee

I enjoyed the original game, and would've enjoyed Replaylee even more if I hadn't played the original. Still happy to support this, hoping for a second game.

Game Complete #13: Resident Evil Reqiuem

The big one! Having played like 4-5 Resi games within one year has both lead to hype and slight fatigue for Reqiuem, although a busy life might've played a role there as well. RE: Reqiuem is great though. And it looks great. I hope there's DLC. I hope the Code Veronica remake is good. Though I still have to beat RE3 Remake, which I had also started even before Reqiuem, and is so far my least favorite one. I still want to beat it soon though.

Game Complete #11: Metal Eden

This came out of nowhere (aka me beating more games than the big ones I actually intended to lol). It was bundled some months ago, even though it only came out last year, but with positive reviews. So, I tried it, and it's more than a boomer shooter. It's similar to Metroid Prime, that there's lots of platforming here, but more akin to Black Mesa? I definitely enjoyed my time with this one, running through this on easy difficulty without any hassle was definitely a vibe. It's not too long, and the end sets up a potential sequel, which I would totally be up for. Good one!
