Last day of the back on track challenge! Day 21!
Better late than never!
-eat as clean as possible Yes, yes, yes.
-state your goals for August(new month, new you) I did a post a couple days ago with my August goal for a happier me :)
-do as many squats, pushups, crunches and lunges as possible! Today was a required rest day. Yesterday we drove up to Olympia to visit family in from Kentucky. I was having such a wonderful time with my cousins that we got a late start back home. As a result, I only had 3.5 hours sleep before getting up for work this morning. Uggghhhh....it was a long 8 hours at work and I was exhausted. I took a nap and now its 90 degrees out and I can barely walk , I'm so out of it. Rest today. Make up for it tomorrow. It was totally worth it though <3
-give yourself a pat on the back and continue on living a healthy life! Thank you for this challenge!
Back on Track Challenge Day 20
-eat one more serving of vegetables than you normally would I shall work on this throughout the day!
-run at least a half of a mile That was the plan but I didn't make it the whole 1/2 mile today. I did do 1.63 miles run/walk and I'm proud of that. I don't know that I'll ever be a runner. I try. I'll keep trying. Maybe someday I'll be able to run a 5k, the whole way through. When that day happens my new goal will be a 10K. If it doesn't happen then I'll be ok with that too. As long as I keep going and don't give up all together, I'll call it a win for me!
-try and drink 100 oz of water or more! It's hot out, that shouldn't be a problem. When does fall start? I miss the cool days and rain lol (please don't send me hate mail!)
Not a great workout today. Speed and distance were fine but I vomited during the 1st or 2nd 7 minute free form run. It didn’t feel like it was from overexertion but I’m not sure. I still felt okay enough to finish the run but am a little dizzy and off feeling still. I’m having and emergen-c electrolyte pack just in case it’s a dehydration thing.
They were laying out brand new asphalt on the road right beside the track so it was even warmer than the 29 degrees my Nike app said it was which may have had something to do with it.
My legs also felt quite heavy for a good chunk of the run, but I got some 100m sprints in before they started to get weary and it felt great! I felt almost weightless and like I was flying around the track.
I’m proud for pushing myself through to finish the workout but I’ll definitely keep an eye out on my body and how I’m feeling so that I won’t repeat the experience.
Runners club August: 6.28km/100km
100oz of water!!!
I did it! And it's only 8pm so I've go roughly another 3 hours to drink more. This was a bit of a challenge, but I made sure to get an extra 20 oz in earlier this morning so that I wouldn't have to chug before bed. Veggies went well as I added some spinach to lunch that I wouldn't have normally had.
Back on Track Day 20
I've been out of touch. I've let myself get overwhelmed with other stuff going on and I let my health and fitness take the back seat...again. I could beat myself up over this, but instead I say...life happens. Yes, I need to get better at managing my time and my priorities, but I am really excited to have been a part of this challenge. I got introduced to some awesome blogs that have inspired me and I am looking forward to new goals.
I didn't want this post to come off as a last day post, as tomorrow is the last day, but I know I am gonna be busting my behind tomorrow to get ready for my niece's bridal shower on Saturday and I'm not sure if I'll be able to hop online...so...I'm super excited to have been able to participate and I really hope I can get on to say a proper goodbye tomorrow.
