Nick Michael - bs bluntslide

“I think a bluntslide is just a comfortable trick for me so it made the most sense. I do remember after seeing [Nick] Boserio ollie it, checking it out in person and seeing how scary it was, and thought there’s just no way I’d ever step to it. Fast forward a couple years and we’re always driving past this thing while filming for this video and Daniel would keep saying “bluntslide that shit!” and I kinda started to think maybe I could. I started inching my way up to almost the top of the bank and dropped in just to see if I could hang. We ended up cementing the top and I hit Greg up to skate for the first time to see if he wanted to film a second angle. That first time just wasn’t the day though and it started to get dark. And yeah, not to get all sad, but my mom passed away two years ago and the anniversary to her passing was coming up in a couple days. I knew the date was coming up and we made the plan to come back on that day. I also didn’t tell anybody this, so it was just something for myself, I just felt really determined and knew I either had to land it or at least put one down, eat shit and try my hardest for her. I felt pretty focused that day and just kept her in mind the whole time. Luckily I ended up doing it pretty quick, I think in less than ten tries. The blunt slides I was getting into felt really good. The first one I tried putting down was the one I rolled away from, I kinda just blacked out and tried to hold on. It’s definitely the most proud I’ve felt for a trick, just because of the day, the spot I didn’t think I’d ever skate, and it was really cool; Greg got to be there too. ”
