Last cafe for the year
Cafe # 32 for 2016: Backyard Coffee, Greater San Juan, San Juan City
Plain and simple. The place was big enough and the ambiance was pleasant and soothing. The staff was nice and accommodating enough. We had their creamy bacon carbonara and bolognese. I am not a fan of white sauce but I prefer the bacon carbonara than the bolognese. They were both good but the carbonara was tastier and it was indeed creamy. The serving was generous! For drinks, my friend had matcha latte for P150 while I had iced mocha for P160. My mocha has more coffee than cocoa and I liked it! Their matcha latte has more milk than the matcha but at least, I can still taste the matcha part. Their serving for drinks were kinda deceiving though. The glass was tall but you can actually finish your drink in two full sips. For desserts, we had their oreo cheesecake which was really good and the serving was big enough for P180. They have no service charge! And the place was really clean. For me, the travel was worth it. I am from Cavite and this is my first coffee place somewhere in San Juan. So I guess, Backyard Coffee is one of the places O will get back to if ever my feet landed in San Juan again :) MY ACTUAL RATING WAS 3.5 (when we’re talking about the food, price and serving) but the experience, staff, ambiance, cleanliness of the place and wifi (lol) made me add 0.5 on my rating.
