Oh well. I don't have many anyway because I forgot to take them before the lights went off.

Anyway, game last night was at stupid 10pm again. I managed to avoid the theme of Monday (losing my cool and overreacting) so that was very good. My passing and ball control was total shit, but I had some good defensive plays.

The team played well overall and it was kind of nice how the playoffs matched us against the team some of us played with previously who are mostly good guys.

I felt we were the better side throughout, but not by a big margin. Their goaltender was very solid and saved a number of good chances while we held them to only half chances and shots from distance.

But one of those though was just about a perfect shot and they scored on it, by a guy I found out later isn't really on their team, but was also the most dangerous offensive player they had the whole game.

We managed to come back not too long after and finally get it past their goalie to tie at one. He went back to making good saves after that and the game ended tied.

Of course that doesn't work for playoffs so we started a penalty shootout, after three shooters each we were tied again when the lights turned off. So in the end the captains and the shittastic ref went over by the bathrooms where there was a light so they could see and flipped a coin, which we lost.

A pretty bullshit way to end the season actually, but at least the other team was nice about it and were complaining about the stupid lights and horrible ref just as much.

Like I was talking with some of the guys at half, he should pick at least one to do, not being a total prick or making good calls. He did neither though, made horrible calls and was a jerk. He gave one of our guys a yellow card for cursing, just cursing, not yelling obscenities or anything, in the 21 and over league, where I've seen only one previous card in over a year and last week a questionably drunk player was yelling curse words almost nonstop for the last five minutes of the game and got nothing.

Anyways, the coin flip loss means a bit of a break before playing again after the holiday when we're scheduled to finish one season and start the next on the same night, at totally different locations, probably at the same time. So that will be a fun added challenge.
