Thank you to everyone who engaged in this WC with me. It's been so fun and I'm sad it's over but it's been a win-win situation: Jude ending the match with a goal, Kylian breaking the record and currently, in the lead for the Golden Boot. It's a win-win and we celebrate that. So strange there's no finals this year.

Freedom of speech has never meant freedom from consequences. You're free to say what you want, and everyone else is free to respond, criticize, or distance themselves from those words. That's how free speech works.
What I don't understand is trying to shift the conversation to being the victim after the response. Kylian Mbappé responded with far more class and restraint than many people would have. The focus shouldn't be on the backlash—it should be on the comments that caused it.
Racism has absolutely no place in football or anywhere else. When multiple football organizations and governing bodies publicly condemn what was said, it's a clear sign the issue isn't people being "too sensitive." Accountability matters.
Own what you said. Offer a genuine apology without excuses or deflection. Learn from it, and do the work to rebuild trust. That's how you move forward—not by pretending the consequences are the real problem.
