well that could have gone better
Tonight in MFS we got a new player, he had a amnesiac ranger, and guess what happened in his first combat ? He got 3 1s in a row. What had happened is that the party had gone back to save some NPC’s and due to some interesting gymnastics on my mystic theurge’s part he ended up on the far side of one of the NPC’s war horse, this doesn’t seem so bad, until the new guy wanted to join in as well. The DM had him role his tumble check and there he got his first 1, the DM then asked him to roll to confirm it, and that's when he got his 2nd 1, by his time everyone at the table was either wincing or laughing, and he rolled a third time, the die clattered and rolled to a stop. His 3rd 1. At this point his character was then rudely smashed into a Kobald/wall sandwich by the war horse he was trying to get by, nearly killing him.
Now, 3 1’s in a row is rare, and I crunched the numbers, not very surprising, and it’s about as rare as flipping a coin 13 times and never getting heads.
Just watched Fast Girls and Waiting Room and am really upset Rupert was in roles that made me hate his character. Waiting Room put him as an adulterer which I will never condone in any circumstance. Fast Girls had in in the overbearing father role who caused trouble throughout the movie. It reminded me of "Make It Or Break It" which had plenty of those type of characters. I want to watch him in a role where he's a hero or protagonist role -.-
