A dying Future Harry lands on the night of the Battle of Hogwarts and frees his past self from the haze of Dumbledore's spells and Snape's and Molly's potions. When Ron arrives and claims to have faked Parseltongue to enter the Chamber of Secrets, Harry sees through his lies and knocks him out. Future Harry frees Hermione, too, then uses the last of his power to send her and Harry back to first year, where they decide to stay hidden and deal with the Horcruxes while helping their younger selves.

AU: The Battle is won by a slim margin, but instead of Fred dying, Ron has perished. Hermione is devastated. But it comes out that Ron had been feeding information on their plans to Voldemort all along. Hermione breaks the worst news to Harry, on the anniversary of his death. They end up finding solace in a bottle of fire whisky, and Hermione’s bed.
