I got the news almost a month ago but realized I haven't issued any kind of official statement. Next month's entire tour with Rasputina was indeed canceled, which means of course I will not be opening for them. I'm devastated, and I know they are sad too- I was so looking forward to working with them again, and Rasputina fans have been especially wonderful to me. I thrive emotionally on walking out on that stage and baring my soul, by making new fans and reconnecting with longtime fans. It's where I feel my life and what I do makes the most sense. And touring with them has been a fantastic fit- the opportunity to be their live support is a huge gift I do not take for granted. Melora is a consummate professional and she never cancels anything, so please know that her reasons for doing so are valid and she wishes to keep them private at this time. Many ticket buyers reached out to me expressing grief that they won't be seeing me perform for the first time- please know that means the world to me. I promise I'll make it out to you some other time- HOPEFULLY with Rasputina, too. The good news is this means I will be able to use the time to go into the studio with JHEREK BISCHOFF VERY soon- to wrap up a couple of final songs from my long-time-coming covers album, as well as a surprise commission we're really excited about.
