An officer responding to a noise complaint, at an apartment complex just off the Strip on University Boulevard, called for backup after one of the students resisted arrest. The officers ran into the apartment and dragged two men and a woman outside, before using a Taser and baton to subdue one of the men. The man seen on the video being dragged out of his apartment was charged with harassment, and all three were charged with obstructing justice and resisting arrest. Three officers were put on paid administrative leave, the officer who was filmed at the front door of the apartment, the officer who used the Taser and the officer who struck the student several times with a baton. Their names were not released. Investigators will review the actions of every officer in the videos, Anderson said. Most were wearing body cameras. In response to this incident Officers will receive training about how to de-escalate tense situations and about Fourth Amendment rights that prohibit unreasonable search and seizure.
