and for the 3rd consecutive Super 1000 events of 2026, new men's singles champion is crowned. Victor Lai won by defeating home favourite, Jonatan Christie in the final, making it his maiden Super 1000 title and first BWF WT title.

Anyways badminton's men's singles title will not be defended in 2026 after Alex Lanier def. Anders Antonsen in the first round. So in 2026, we will have 3 different Super 1000 champions after Kunlavut Vitidsarn (MO) and Lin Chun-Yi (AE) walkover and lost in their respective matches in IO.

Other former Super 1000 champions who are still in the draw are: Shi Yuqi (CHN), Jonatan Christie (INA) and Chou Tien-Chen (TPE). Note: Shi Yuqi still has not started his match against Yushi Tanaka yet so we're waiting for the full quarterfinal updates as there's a possibility that Shi Yuqi will face Jonatan Christie next.

But given the scenarios, it is confirmed to only have 1 former Super 1000 champions in the semifinal which will come from the top half of the draw.

We may get another maiden Super 1000 champion in the men's singles.
