A guy walks into a bar and asks for a drink, the bartender says "I'll give you a drink if you can tell me a meta-joke." and the guy replies, "Okay, a guy walks into a bar and asks for a drink, the bartender says 'I'll give you a drink if you can tell me a meta-joke', and the guy replies, 'Okay, a guy walks into a bar and asks for a drink, the bartender says, 'Here you go.' so he gives the guy a drink.' so he gives the guy a drink." so he gives the guy a drink.
* That’s pretty.... Meta of you.* Eeyyy.

He lands with a heavy thump in ice cold snow. A groan passes his teeth but he doesn’t bother getting up. Teleporting here, especially on such low health, took all of his strength and he could hardly bring himself to move. He didn’t even know where he was, all he knows was he had to get out. Get out or die. He couldn’t take that place anymore.
“Nngh..”
Red’s head was spinning, barely able to focus. Maybe if he just...closed his eyes for a little while. Catch a nap, just for a moment. Then he’d force himself up and figure out just where the hell he was...
At least, that was the plan, until the crunching of snow under feet sounded. God, what now??
“Go ‘way...” He grunts weakly, hardly able to add any venom to his words in his state. “Jus’ lemme rest...”
Hot dog!
*Up dog.
To Get What One Deserves
Chiller wasn’t in the mood for any more trouble today. He’d already narrowly dodged being caught in an affair with a woman he’d met in a bar a few days ago, and now he had even more work on his hands since his brother Garamond left for the day out of frustration. ‘Why do you do this to yourself,’ he’d asked, ‘who even holds your affections anymore?’ Did it matter? It was the adrenaline, the constant casual hookups, the ability to have multiple people wrapped around his finger while they all stupidly clung to him - none of them were the wiser. A loosely strung together harem that could fall apart at any moment; the risk, the chance of ruin. He lived for it.
Some sound or another caught his attention, and instead of bending over his work any longer, he stood to greet the noise. Too bad it wasn’t who he thought it was.
“So, you’ve come back? How desperate can y--” He spoke, eye trailing up to his guest. A smirk. “...Well, you’re not who I was expecting. Who’re you?”

❝ No. I’m fine. ❞
That much is stated immediately. It doesn’t take deep thought to know when to lie; that simple line was one muttered so many times, he’d nearly lost count. There was no point in being upset. The very reason behind the feeling was irrational, pointless. They were gone.
They were D E A D.
Not by his doing, but time’s. Humans weren’t like monsters. They never were. They never would be either. To feel the razor-edge of something so old, so humiliating, as panic made his stomach churn be incurred by some silly picture was embarrassing. The sensation crept along his spine, the spindly digits of FEAR raking through his thoughts at every turn. It was the sight of HIM. Blurry, unfocused, but there. THAT man, alive. Breathing. Present. The village had long since fallen off the map, the population set in the place having dwindled down to nothing decades back. Texts told of misfortune falling on the sad little town. Droughts. Pestilence. Nothing good would dare touch that place of FILTH and SIN. Ironic, really.
The deed was done. It was over. It was all. Over. For this feeling to fester after all this time was ridiculous. For it to persist throughout the entirety of the day? That even more so. It put him on edge. It belittled him. This.
His peers didn’t bother him. Not genuinely. Their existence was an offense, but their words, their actions, their demeanor was nothing more than aggravation. Yet, his apprehension didn’t lift. Not even after math class. Not even when Mrs. Myers, the exasperating wench, awarded him a sticker of achievement. Not even after lunch where Frisk, noting something off, had silently given him their pudding cup. Come recess, his unease remained, but his focus was forcibly directed elsewhere, at everything. Classmates ran in every direction. Screaming, laughing, playing, there wasn’t a single human standing idle. Even he, with nervous energy, had taken to stiffly pacing about. He listened in on passing conversations. He heard about Jenny apparently having a crush on a monster, then something about how homework here was just oh so difficult, and finally, after catching a girl’s eyes while he walked by, caught a round of high-pitched giggles. It’d been a hazy affair. Vaguely, he remembered Frisk inviting him to play some meaningless game. He’d declined, and instead stood at the top of the playground gym.
So many were pushing past. Dirty hands shoved against his arms. Voices, squeaky and obnoxious rang in his ears. Eyes slipped right over him, their fleeting attentions set on the goal ahead. He couldn’t recall what the boy had said. He watched lips move, some babyish remark presumably and it just made his blood boil.
He pushed him.
The boy ‘fell’.
No one saw. There was no proof. No one had told on him. A teacher had some suspicion, but there was no evidence. No fact. Being dragged to the front office was unnecessary. Calling his mother, or alternatively, his father, wasn’t an option. Therefore, Sans, the alleged 'uncle’, had been chosen. It would suffice. At this point, they merely needed a legal guardian to take him home. The comedian would suffice. Then, when he was home, he could shut himself in his room and pretend this day had been erased from this timeline. Frisk could prod later, once they returned from their after-school activities. He would be alone. Already, the guidance counselor had left. The principle was already out for the day. The only other being, aside from the fat man, was a secretary who looked more interested in her Facebook adventures than their presence.
❝ Take me home. ❞
Really, he had to come here, again? How many times had it been this week, 3? ..4? He had lost count by this point, but, let’s be honest, Sans probably never kept count in the start anyway. After being told why he was called here to take the kid home, he looked at him and gave a quiet sigh as his hands slipped back into his coat pockets. Giving a light shake of his head, he nodded goodbye to the secretary and then motioned his head to the side at Chara.
*Come on, kid.
Sans wasn’t very happy about having to come here and deal with this drama that no one even had proof of instead of napping, but, he understood that if Toriel found out that Chara was throwing.. Well.. Pushing kids off of tall things that he would get a pretty long and heavy talk about how he shouldn’t do that.
As they walked out of the building, Sans pulled one of his hands out of his pocket and rubbed the back of his cranium while a light smile appeared upon his skeletal features.
*Guess I’ll have to make something up to tell Tori, huh?
He said as he tried to lighten the mood a little, but he was only met with silence. Not that Sans was expecting any response, but.. He at least expected.. Something. The awkward silence only made the skeleton feel like something was even more wrong than usual. By this point, Chara would have thrown some insult or some sort of phrase or nickname that would have the skeleton completely uncomfortable, but.. Nothing.
Sans thought and thought as they walked and then he realised that they were coming up to a small convenient store along the way. He paused a second and then looked at the kid for a second and then back at the convenient store once again.
*Hey, uh.. Kid. *I need to get some stuff that I forgot to get earlier from in there. *Ya know.. Sleep and all.
He paused, trying to see the reaction behind the bangs that were covering the other’s face, but it still remained pretty.. Bland. He continued.
*Do ya.. Want some chocolate or something from there while I’m here?
He wondered if that would make the kid feel better, or if he would just shrug it off. Hell, it was even awkward for him to try making them feel better with how much shit they put him through, but.. Heck.. He just couldn’t see them like this for some reason. There was definitely something wrong from the usual and he felt like he had to sort it out.
