i always hated lancer mostly because of the fans and unstable game rules, i and no idea about the whole setting and the stuff the setting implies, its pretty awful

i actually think the rules to lancer are pretty good, esp. considering that compcon is basically unmatched as far as actually useful accessible gm resources go. i've only played from the gm side but i found it remarkably easy, fulfilling, and fun to plan and run tactically interesting combats in it
