I was just watching a video about the best and worst versions of one hit wonders as recorded by the original band, and Who Let the Dogs Out was on there. Dude kinda just waffled around and moved on, when I was hoping he'd talk about the version of Who Let the Dogs Out that got big in Australia specifically.

The version of the song that I grew up with was more of a melodic dance mix with buzzing synths and bell accents:

And I guess I can't speak for all of Australia, but this is the ONLY VERSION I heard for like a DECADE. The only time I heard the original song was when I caught Tim Allen's The Shaggy Dog on TV one evening years after it came out.

This is the version I had to listen to too much and eventually got sick of, but even now I would say it's the version of the song I would prefer to listen to - especially since it seems like the world has memory-holed the existence of this dance remix in favor of the original despite it reaching #1 on the Australian charts.
