His footsteps echoed through the palace halls that were lit up by moonlight, making his eyes shine with the reflection of it
He reached the door to her chamber, giving a soft knock, dismissing the guards stationed there
With a flick of a wrist, they were gone
Not daring to defy the yuvraj
He waited in front of the door for a reply but all he got was silence, his heart started beating faster
He leaned his forehead against it. "chanda?" He called out oh so softly, not at all like the fierce worrior that had fought in the war today
His heart ached when he did not get a reply once again
She was purposefully torturing him now
The need to see her was getting unbearable now
He no longer cared about decorum he pushed open the door, walking inside
The room was dimly lit as it was way past midnight, but he knew she would be awake
She never could fall asleep without seeing him after something as serious as a war
He walked further in to find her sitting on the vanity running her fingers through her hair, opening the loose braid and letting them fall free against her back
Her eyes remained close, making a small smile appear on his face. She knew it was him
She could feel his presence without even opening her eyes
She took off her mang teeka, resting it on the table
He watched silently as she took off her earrings as well, the moonlight falling on her face, making him sign in comfort as he leaned against the door, holding a hand over his heart
"Kyu aaye ho?" She asked without even laying eyes on him
A small smile appeared on his lips as he heard the question "tum prateeksha jo kar rahi thi" he teased, pushing off the wall and coming closer
"Kisne kaha?" She frowned, turning around, crossing her legs
His heart stopped for a second as their eyes met, the fire in her eyes always found its way into his heart
There was no doubt that it belonged to her
She raised a brow, raising her chin up to look at him, waiting for an answer
He smiled, looking down, crossing his arms across his chest, taking a few steps closer. "kisko ko kehne ki zarurat hai?" He said, his voice low dipped with honey, making her take a deep breath as she looked away
She got up, closing the distance between the two "theek ho?" She asked, caressing his cheek with a gulp
Scanning for injuries, she waited for an answer, only to find him smiling
He held her hand, bringing it to his lips, kissing her fingertips
She pulled her hand back a soft blush covering her cheeks "theek ho." she nodded, answering her own question, taking a few steps backward
"Chanda," he held her wrist, stopping her movements, "Neend nahi aa rahi," he whispered, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, his voice like velvet making her heart skip a beat
"T-toh main kya karu?" She tried to appear confident huffing as she played with her necklace
He only smiled, pulling her close with a hand on her back, running a finger up the length of her back, opening the clasp of her necklace
She blinked, taking deep breaths, holding the necklace to her chest to keep it from falling
He noticed the way she closed her eyes to calm herself, making the corner of his lips lift up as he put his hands on her shoulders, seating her down on the bed pulling the necklace away to place it near the bed
He kneeled near the bed, looking up at her before running a hand over her ankle, making her shiver as she tried to pull it away
He gently placed her foot on his thigh, taking off her anklet and doing the same with the other one
He set the aside, looking at her again, noticing how quiet she had gotten he put his hands on her shoulders, sliding them down her arms and making her shiver
He gently took off the bagles she had been wearing, letting them fall
She closed her eyes again as if he would disappear If she did so
It amused him. He took a moment to just look at her, taking in the sight of her
A rosy blush covered her cheeks with her eyes shut tightly, causing creases in her eyelids
He placed his hands on her shoulders again, gently laying her down on the bed
"Bahu" her eyes shot open with surprise. "mujhe neend nahi aa rahi" is all he said in response
It hadn't been long since they had finally acknowledged what was going on between the two, but she could have never expected this from him
"Bhau" She said again, backing up a bit as he sat down on the bed
"Hm?" A low sound escaped his lips, looking over at her with a smile he put his hands on her waist, his eyes fell on her waistchain
He lifted his head to hold her gaze, the slight smile on his lips making her heart flutter
Being so lost in his eyes, she did not even notice when he leaned down to place a kiss on her waist
Her eyes fell shut when his teeth grazed her skin, lifting the waistchin up, a teasing smile on his lips
His hands slid behind her waist, tracing the curve of her back, tracing the length of it as he dropped another kiss on her waist
She shivered when he pulled at the waistchain between his teeth making her back arch for him
His lips curled into a soft smile, dropping down another open-mouthed kiss on her waist
He ended the torture by placing his head on her waist, closing his eyes
Her eyes fluttered open, a gentle smile forming on her lips when she looked at peaceful expression on his face
"Kya kar rahe ho?" She whispered, running her fingers through his soft curls, not being able to resist and leaning down to press her lips against his forehead
Her eyes shut comfortably in his presence, making her fingers stop the gentle cresses
He nuzzled his face in her stomach as a complaint, making her let out a shaky "Hmm.." fingers shaking slightly as they resumed, moving through his hair
He looked up at her with a shameless smile, making something inside her melt
"Neend nahi aa rahi" he muttered, pressing another kiss against her stomach
Taking deep breaths, her chest heavied and fell while she continued playing with his hair. "kya hua hai?" She whispered, having never expected this kind of behavior from him
"Neend kyu nahi aa rahi?" She asked with a soft smile, drawing slow circles on his back to calm him down in hopes that it would make him fall asleep
"Tumhe dekhna tha" he smiled, tracing the side of her waist, smiling amused at the soft pink blush that covered her cheeks
His smile widened, knowing he was the cause of it
"Ab dekh liya," She said, a hint of stubbornness in her voice as she looked away, not wanting to give into him "jao ab yaha se" She said, taking away the gentle caress of her hands
"Chanda" he frowned from the loss of her touch, looking up at her with despair dropping another kiss, trying to change her mind
"Nirlagh hain aap." she grumbled, looking away
A shameless smile appeared on his lips at her words. He dropped another kiss, a bit higher this time, "thodi der rehne do na" he tried to persuade her
"Ja kar so jao" She breathed, her face flushed as she wiped the sweat that had appeared on her neck with the back of her hand
"Chandrika" he called her by her full name, making her heart drop as he never calls her that
Her eyes found his as he gave a reassuring smile, sliding his hand up her back, making her gasp as he pulled her up in a seating position
He pulled her close, leaving little to no space between the two "tumhe ache se dekh toh lu"
She let her forehead fall to his shoulder, hiding her face in it
He smiled, putting an arm around her to pull her into an embrace. "darr gyi thi?" He asked softly, running a hand through her hair
Still a bit hesitant, she wrapped her arms around his torso. "vo-" She started but decided against saying anything. "thak gye hoge" She sighed, pulling back
"Jao." She smiled tired,"so jao"
He smiled, flicking her septum ring. "soyi kyu nahi?"
She smiled, putting her forehead to his "tumhe dekhe bina din poora nahi hota"
"Jao ab so jao." She patted his cheek trying to pull away, but he held her wrist
"So he toh raha tha" he frowned bringing her hand to his lips "tumne nirlagh bol kar utha diya"
"Apne kaksh main" She sighed adding to it
"Yaha kyu nahi?" He pulled her close, making a soft blush appear on her cheeks
She fiddled with the end or her saree "yeh mera kaksh hai"
"Par mujhe nahi jana," he smiled, pulling her close "rehene do na tumhare pass" his nuzzled his nose against hers
Her turned her face away, taking deep breaths. "th-theek hai," he had managed to make the princess stutter "s-so jao, yehi so jao bass so jao"
He smiled, amused by her shyness, laying her down again he placed his head on her stomach, closing his eyes
