OurLocaltopia was lucky enough to make lunch for Alex and Bailey’s wedding this weekend, which was set amidst fruit trees, garden boxes and succulents in the garden of their vintage Craftsman bungalow in Old Town Orange.
The wedding was a gorgeous amalgam of Alex and Bailey, reflecting their individual personalities and shared interests. Friends, families and neighbors mingled, danced and celebrated in the pleasant warmth of a perfect April afternoon.
The bride and groom made the unique and delicious decision to have a creative, Italian-inspired feast prepared for their guests… many of whom were vegetarian. The menu included several passed appetizers, two types of salad, a pasta bar, a wide variety of prepared vegetables and a spectacular wedding cake baked by one of the bride’s friends. Prep for this meal began about a week in advance and continued right up until the ceremony. (Planning, though, started in January!) OurLocaltopia extends an extra special THANK YOU to Cheryl, James and Jessyca, who helped us tremendously throughout the entire day!

The wedding was full of beautiful details, like the succulent and floral boutonnieres worn by the groomsmen and officiant.
Beautiful little succulents were clustered on each table and given as parting gifts to the guests!
The menu, designed by the bride and groom, appeased both the omnivores and herbivores in the crowd!
Lovely table settings contributed to the garden party feel.
Local, backyard citrus was used to garnish the water, tea and lemondae.
Deconstructed bruschetta appetizers were passed to guests.
A buffet was set to serve the main meal.
Two salads upped the quotient of greens in the meal. Pictured is a classic Caesar salad.
Guests created colorful plates of pasta, veggies, meatballs and grilled chicken. Yum!

A stunning cake, made by one of the bride’s good friends, was topped with Princess Buttercup and The Dread Pirate Roberts (aka “Westley”) from The Princess Bride, one of the couple’s favorite movies.
