ghost month by Tom Kondrat Via Flickr: taken with Agfa Box 44, my grandfather's camera. I might have accidentally pushed the bulb lever (instead of 1/60s exposure) when taking this photograph. I am not sure why it looks like this. Traditionally, it is believed that ghosts haunt the island of Taiwan for the entire seventh lunar month, when the mid-summer Ghost Festival is held. The month is known as Ghost Month. During the month, people avoid surgery, buying cars, swimming, moving house, marrying, whistling and going out or taking pictures after dark. It is also important that addresses are not revealed to the ghosts.

The wind was up and so was the surf over at #baishawan #beach for this fun shoot with @chris_.hawk. Thank you to the kind surfer for lending us his board for a minute. It felt like hanging in to a sail in the wind though, so well done Chris for not blowing away. Shooting on location always offers up different challenges, this is why I prefer that to the studio in general. I really enjoy a good challenge. Having a bit of a fun shoot on #baishawan #beach with @chris_.hawk last week. I think we were experiencing some of the weather created by the near by typhoons here in #taiwan. By the end of this shoot there was a film of salt on my lens and my light was dripping from the humidity and rain combination. Very trying conditions to work in. . . .
