With my Baja destined to live outside for the foreseeable future it seemed worthwhile making an engine cover to protect the electrics from the elements.

I kept the design nice and simple with some Velcro straps to attach it to the rear bumper and some elastic cord to pull it into the wings a little. The foul weather we’re currently having should put it to the test!

#flashback Recuerdo que vivía todavía en la Ciudad de México, así que debo haber tenido 5 o 6 años, y los domingos salia una barra infantil en el canal 5 que el anfitrión era el Tío Gamboin, y dentro de ella había una sección que se llamaba "El Cinito del Tío", ahí vi muchas películas clásicas como King Kong contra Godzilla, pero fue un domingo cuando apareció un filme que me voló la cabeza, en ese tiempo no sabia su nombre, pero aparecieron esos magníficos, ruidosos y veloces autos Hot Rods, un Corvette con llantas inmensas y sin defensas, un Chevy 56, un par de T-Buckets, etc. Y a partir de ahí no pude olvidarme de eso, es lo que yo quería tener cuando fuera grande, quería construirme autos modificados, ruidosos, con motores inmensos y que la gente voltear a ver. De ahí después conocí muchos más autos y estilos dentro de ellos muchos con motores V8, Hot rods, Gassers, Dragsters, Kustoms, y de la misma especie de personas encontrarían alguna vez que los pequeños Volkswagen podían ser modificados y volverse Baja Bugs. Por eso tengo los gustos de hoy, de esa película ha evolucionado y llegado a construir mi F100 y próximamente el Baja.
