LITERARY: Telescope

Under the navy-blue midnight sky, In the midst of an open field, Perched a dark-colored telescope

Stood by it, familiar though uncertain of— A person, clothed in white

With their simple fix, and a mouthed, “Look.” I saw the stars of Gemini—glittering and gleaming, ng with a glimpse of their smiling face And their hands atop my shoulder

With funky, upbeat music and our forced funny dances—she laughed And as if it were a steer, it directed me to Venus, Where there I was—once again, walking down the aisle Exchanging soft vows, promising, doting, yearning

With a snap, rain poured—along with lightning telescope broke too, and as if grief is on loop—I’m reliving her death

And as I glanced at the full bright moon—struck by thunder, I looked back at my ancient days whilst slowly engulfed by a blinding light With an eternal blink, and a mouthed, “Goodnight.” I saw a blurred face—now familiar, no longer uncertain

LITERARY: Translucent

There’s a white quill stuck in my hand Through the middle of my palm—nailed With blood slowly dripping whilst inked red On my pale tattered skin—written and etched:

Words as to why I did, And to how I did Words of regret for why I killed And how well this body is hid

Words for you not to grieve, Along with my gentle goodbye And finally, words of I—longing For a grave you’ll never find

LITERARY: Genie

Given a lamp With three wishes inside, I’d only use one To fast-forward time Without paradoxes, Or butterfly effects, As perhaps all things Will be better by then Attend a few more concerts, We could hang out until sunrise, Take photos, sing along And maybe, laugh until our stomachs hurt We’ll dance along to the music Until we run out of silly moves I’ll hold on, embrace you longer Despite this otherworldly circumstance Given a lamp With three wishes inside, I’d only use one And I’d spend it for you, my Genie
