Kyaa~! That Hakuryuu vest! how does one simply make it?!? I've got the trousers and the wig, just need the shoes, hairpiece and the shirt/top/vest DX Please give me the formula~!
hi!!His vest is actually really easy to make! :D it’s just like sewing a regular kimono/yukata and this tutorial should give you the base for his top too! I’m terrible at explaining but I hope this is helpful! this is a very basic guide so I won’t go into fine detail in how I finished the seams. Here are the pieces you’ll have to cut:they’re pretty much all rectangles, haha. These measurements should give you a size s-m and you can add or subtract a few inches if needed. I’ve included a 5/8” seam allowance in my measurements. :)I haven’t really specified how long the collar piece should be, but it should be long enough to cover the neck portion of the back, like the space that is left for your neck at the back (mine is 4”), and also the full length of the vest. Pin your front and back panels together and sew where I’ve indicated on the dotted line. I’ve left 10.5” for the armhole, but you may want to leave a bigger one. I wouldn’t suggest anything smaller than 10.5” next, you can sew the collar piece on. I’ve kind of sandwiched the vest with the black and white pieces of the collar so you don’t really see the seams, but really there’s a lot of ways you could approach this seams so I won’t go into fine detail. pin the collar pieces to your vest where I’ve indicated with the red line and sew.after this, I cut silver triangles out and glued+sewed them down on the collar. then I just trimmed the vest with silver bias tape and ta-da I’m done! oh boy I hope you can understand what I just typed out looll good luck and feel free to ask questions any time! ;u;b
