to start this blog id like to share an idea for a game I had from my notes. what I have written goes as follows:
"a game where either you are a part of or fighting against a giant alien race coming to destroy earth, their justifications are clear and are a colony of space tyrants and are hellbent on galactic domination however they are beyond adorable and are the size of cats but are borderline space Nazis"
I find this to be a really cute idea even after looking at it months later. I think the part that would grab people is that the aliens would be cute little freaks. otherwise I don't think it's that good of an idea. If I were to follow through on this too I wouldn't want the humor to be focused on just "oh look they're objectively cute but hyper evil," it would feel shallow. I think the biggest joke would come from their design and how they look, I might draw a concept later but my idea for them are for them to be bi-peds but to look almost like a cross between sabelye and Espeon from pokemon. Big ears and big eyes but also little freaks. I think it'd be funny if they talked in different pitches of static too. Higher ranking aliens having a dog whistle like sound. Or even the devices they communicate through produce a crazy amount of static. I think it would be funny if they acted like Raving Rabbids too just less annoying.
I'm going back and forth on the game being hyper cartoon-y gory or just cartoon-y violence.
I think the protag/s would be a secret alien obsessed fan club that welcome them but once they learn of their intentions have to fight them back with unique homemade gadgets and tactics.
I think this concept would work best as a 2.5D beat em up or a shoot em up (or even a mix of the two! kind of like metal slug)
