OC Love Language
tagged by @curiousthimble and her insanely memorable OCs. also, i’m going to cheat a little so here are all my Hawke kiddos from The Baker of Kirkwall! I’ll do a Heartfic one later i swear
rules: find a gif that fits one of your OC’s main love languages (or 2 if you really can’t decide) and tag forward to others!
Garrett Hawke
Garrett loves to make people happy—especially someone he loves romantically. There is a kind of happiness in him when he seems their expressions light up as they receive an unexpected gift from him. Garrett notices the small things—the immediate change of expression into the warmest smile, the sudden surprised silence accompanied by the softness in their voice, the way they hold his gifts (whatever it may be) as though it were a soufflé that might deflate. To him, there is no greater love language, than Gifts.
Marian Hawke
Marian spent her early love-life with a man who gave her his undivided attention as she did him. They cherished the small moments they had together most—reading, and skipping school to sit on the cliffs of the Wounded Coast, discussing about their future. Unfortunately, quality time became one of the many factors that led to the downfall of their relationship. It’s an even more important factor in her love-life now—with her girlfriend being away from work a lot, the time Marian has with her when she’s actually home? It’s like she struck gold.
Carver Hawke
The boy isn’t good with words. Instead, Carver shows affection by doing the simple things. Just like his brother, he has a knack for cooking (sometimes he’s even better than Garrett) and can spend hours in the kitchen preparing food for his partner. He’d then get up early to drive to their workplace to leave the lunchbag with a colleague before heading back. As a boy, he observed how his father worked around Leandra who was a busy artist. His mother’s face would light up with that unexpected meal, or when he’d tend the garden for her because he knew how much Leandra loved flowers. He wanted to mirror those actions when he grew up. Where Carver was bad at words, his love language lies in his Acts of Service.
Bethany Hawke
As a dancer, skinship is nothing new to Bethany. Though she’s not had many partners in life, the young Hawke relishes in the aspect of touch in a relationship. Nothing screams to her with affection more than physical touch. To her, a gentle caress against her cheek can feel like feathers, and the simple motion of holding hands makes her heart flutter. The way a man touches her for the first time can say many things. And the way her husband held and kissed the back of her hand for the first time, she knew she was in love.
