Dive deep beneath the surface and you'll unlock a world of enthralling sea life. A week ago, southwest of Baker Island in the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument, the Nautilus team spotted a floating form materializing out of the darkness. Located about 790 meters below the surface, this is a species of jelly called Deepstaria. As the jelly unfurls and shape shifts, notice the geometric mesh pattern and the bright red isopod hanging on for the ride. The geometric mesh is an intricate network of canals that lead back to this translucent jelly's stomach at the top of the bell. Follow along with the expedition the Nautilus as they continue sharing incredible stories of life under the sea. Video by OET/Nautilus Live
